Hitchcocks LED Tail Light | First in India | Interceptor 650

- I've been trying to search for a good LED tail light for my INTERCEPTOR 650 for months now. And finally, I found this gorgeous tail light from @HitchcocksMotorcycles . The unit is a direct bolt on fit. Like most of their parts. Which I what I really liked. I've seen a lot of videos on TH-cam where people just drill holes in their tail light setup. To me, that is a horrible thing to do to your motorcycle.
WHY?
a) It increases the chances of rain and dirt seeping in.
b) That is awful and I will never get why people do that.
LEDs are bright and greatly increases the visibility on road.
Again, with the price and customs duty, I understand that to some this might be on the pricey side, but it's the price of convenience.

Cheap ones from amazon. These got bad in 7 months. However, There will be another video on the channel which is better than these indicators. 😜

No, I did not have to use any relays. Although I did get the existing relays changed to 4 pin ones from 5 pins.
Srinivas sir tightening the bolt on wire so hard it cuts the wire.
Meanwhile the mice doing the same job to my Dominar without charge. 😭😭😭😭

Your video was so well presented! I would like to know if you had to find some R.E. type electrical connectors, as I don't think that they come with the Hitchcock's tail light.

The tail light comes equipped with the plug and the wire, hence it is easier to connect it. But incase you are installing a different tail light, you will need RE thimbles. Which is easy to find at any local RE mechanic. They’ll remove the thimbles from an unused or a wrecked motorcycle and give it to you. Pretty cheap arrangement. Hope this helps. :)

Couldn't found the LED Tail light, please provide the buy link in the discription. Thanx.
They don’t make that anymore. They make the one which you will have to splice with the existing cables to make it work. I have a spare too. The unit had only two led light malfunctioning. Rest all leds work great. Bright as ever. So I had it replaced under warranty. Thanks to my OCD.

Hey, just want to clarify is this the same model you got from Hitchcock "STOP/TAIL LAMP, LED
PART No. 92308". The website says this isn't compatible with interceptor.
They have stopped making this tail light and is out of production. If you see this item then that would be possibly for another motorcycle.

Ordered it from hitchcocks motorcycles. Paid the customs duty when it arrived on my doorstep. Sadly they don’t make this product anymore. :(

Hi did you check with the new himalyan will this tail light fits and sort of modification like a plug and play??
New Himalayan does not have a slot to install a tail light. The tail light is integrated onto the indicators. So this will not fit.

I don't believe it does. Since we are not cutting or drilling anything.

The tail light shape doesn't look good at all....should've gone for the Motone Customs EL Dorado....it looks soo good on interceptor.
Nope, Gold and Black not my thing. Everyone has different opinions about different things and it's okay. You don't like this tail light, but I do, hence it is on 'my' motorcycle. 👍🏽 Thank you for watching the video though.

Where can I find this light with white plug? On their site I can only find the led without the white bulb. Thanks in advance!
You can always go to a local service center and ask them for a thimble. And connect it to the wire from the one you’ll get from their website. The plug and play one might have been discontinued.

Did your headers have a sort of brown deposit on them when you first started to ride the bike?
If you mean the exhaust pipes, then nope. They are still shiny/ chrome-y looking.
@@SrinivasGanesh ok I just got mine this week and ridden it around 30km there is a faint brown depsit on a small area (almost oily) where the exhaust connects to the engine head.

It is hassle free indeed. The people over @HitchcocksM are very helpful. And yep it does. Depends on how much you spend on it and what is there on the invoice. This one had a duty of INR 1363.

@@saicharant523The only mod you'll have to do is procure thimbles from a scrapped Enfield indicator. As they are not included in this. It's relatively cheaper to do this. Just go to any mechanic that services/ repairs Royal Enfield motorcycles they will be happy to help you. After that, you will need additional washers from any local hardware store to make the fit perfect. Use 14 mm spanner to tighten the nut after.

@@SrinivasGanesh Damn! Shipping and customs just pocketing everything they get man. It's 18.50 - 22.50 on their website. Should be around 1800 - 2500 INR. I was thinking of getting this one but I never had anything imported. Thanks for the information though. 😊
@@SuperBlizzard77 so the item you are looking at was priced at £50. Which was plug and play thing. With the current item you’d have to splice wires etc and then with the customs, they don’t even check the bill and apply cost by weighing it. I had this light, but unfortunately it was a defected piece. So I asked for a replacement. I was not charged for the shipping or the item. It was £0. But still I was charged the same amount for customs. (2,200₹) so ended up paying more. Kismat meri.
@@SrinivasGanesh That had to hurt. 2200 because someone or something got missed at quality control/check. I first thought of getting Baak Taillamp assembly. But it's too costly just for the product if you add the Motogadget indicators. Shipping customs extra. Looking at K-Speed right now. I'm more into the round Taillamp look. This one that you got however does look great though. Not to mention, huge improvement over the stock ones. That tail section was the first thing I wanted to change after getting the bike.
@@SuperBlizzard77 k-speed also charges almost the same amount and customs people treat that as a very expensive amount. My clutch and brake levers are from K-speed only. 😝
Where is the Stinger 2 in 1?
ummm I never bought it. It was a video I shot at Speedmonks Performance centre. :) I'm too scared to install after market exhaust. COPs and Challans!

@@WobbleToyz Oh yes louder. And it's not just about the loudness, there are emission norms as well. When you get the PUC done it will never be under control, and you'll have to pay a fine of INR 160 every time you get it checked.

Well, I was aiming to actually make it a "Modern Classic". Plus bright lights mean more safety and LED means less load on the battery :)
