Fitting that it ended with Victoria, who had the longest-lasting empire- as well as one of the longest reigns!
I think Elizabeth I Tudor has the longest Reign (1558.-1603.) and Victoria rule( 1876-1901. I think) but all of them are great and Elizabet and Victoria will always be the greatest Queens of England.
@@yugonplesteodon8315 Actually 1876 might be when she was coronated as empress of India and not queen of UK. She is crowned queen of Uk in 1837 and died at 1901 (63 years) while Elizabeth I was queen like u commented 1558-1603 (which is actually 44 years) but none the less the queen of UK now (Elizabeth the SECOND) is now the longest reigning monarch (69 years).

And it's not just that I can't know every single queen who has ever lived, it's also that even if I know someone, I can't include clips about her in the video if there is no available movie/tv show with her. Many of the suggestions I get are about queens who don't have any movies or only local ones that are not distributed widely and therefore it is impossible for me to use them 😀
It's an edit who we see all famous queens, sultanas and empresses from France, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Scotland, China, Japan, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi-Arabia, and Russia.
Only one woman here was not a queen but a KING. Tamar, king of Georgia was our first woman monarch and her title was not a queen but a king.
actually, Wu Zetian's title was "Hoàng đế" which is translated into "Emperor" but because of her gender her title was translated into "Empress". Same situation to Empress Lý Chiêu Hoàng. When she was the heir of her father, her title was "Hoàng thái tử" which was translated into "Crown Prince" but instead we had "Crown Princess" and when she became a monarch her title was "Hoàng đế" which meant "Emperor" but she was called Empress. In countries like Việt Nam, China,... we use the same word for the monarch no matter the gender

I'm really curious why you included Margarita of Austria since she never got to be queen... Juan died when he was still a prince.
Because she was a great ruler, as appointed Governor of the Netherlands. The video includes the imho greatest and most powerful queens and other kinds of female rulers (regents, governors, etc), as explained in the description.
She was a queen withouth a crown during the reigns of her nephews Emperors Charles and Ferdinand.
Empresses With and Dowager CiXi is the only one women that can control Emperor's without permission....

What do you think about movie Maria Theresia?
Well, I liked it. I already knew I would like it even before I watched it, and the reason for that was that I was just so really really happy that Maria Theresia finally gets a series/movie!! She is really my favourite queen, or one of the favourites, and there was a time when I read so much documents and books about her.
Because of knowing so much about her history real life, I soon recognized that this show really focuses on being popular amongst the everyday people and being "up-to-date", instead of focusing on historical accuracy. This bothered me a bit, because I always prefer historical accuracy, but on the other hand I also understand why they did it.
Actually, all in all, I liked her portrayal, her journey from being a selfish teenager girl who is only interested in marrying the guy she fancies, to starting to be the responsible and great monarch whose first priority is what is best for her countries. I really liked it.
There were notable inaccuracies in the story, just like Prince Eugene's conspiracy with the Prussians (he did favour the match but didn't do such a plot with them), MT's absence when her father died (she was actually there right beside his deathbed), the line with Anna's infatuation with Franz (she actually fancied his younger brother and married him later), MT's banning from study (though her education was really not satisfactory for a throne heiress, she was never actually banned from studying, she did study some history and such), etc. I was really sorry to see that they highlighted Franz's infidelity so much - actually, early in their marriage they were very very happy and his affairs with other women started much later, when MT was no longer young and pretty. They didn't start as early as before 1741 for sure. I understand they wanted to show this side of his person as well, and for that they had to include infidelities before 1741 because the storyline ended in 1741 but still... I was a bit disappointed because I really ship this historical OTP and they were a very loving couple, especially so early on.
Though I think they could have chosen a more attractive actor to play Franz :D I don't know, I didn't find this actor handsome at all, he was a bit fatty and such. I thought they would choose a really hot actor. Eszterházy was muuuch much hotter, in my opinion :D Of course the "love" storyline between Eszterházy and MT was fiction (I think), but inventing his infatuation with her and that she didn't requite it only used it to get his support was not a bad idea from the writers.
Lili1127 Thank for opinion :) I like it but as you said there was these storyline like Franz affers with another woman and this with Esterhazy and MT and I was like what? I don't know much about MT but this wasnt too much good like television promised. I don't know I like The idea about actors from more countries :) So you don't like Franz (actors name is Kotek btw) :D I was so surprised when I found out that Kotek is going to play this role :D like I know him like a teenage cute boy from funny comedy some times teenage movie 😂 and now drama role :D And yeah he was skinny in past I was surprised how he looks now :D Amd what was interesting that The MT actress said that was more easy to understand Hungary language for her than Czech and she speaks Germany :D I don't know I don't think that Hungary and Germány are similar :D
Believe me, there are no similarities between the Hungarian and the German language :D Hungarian doesn't have similarities with any language in the world in my opinion. Actually, I also learn a Slavic language (Russian) and I find more similarities between Russian and German than between Hungarian and German. But maybe Czech is a different case, I don't know. But we Hungarians are really at a disadvantage when it comes to foreign languages :D
Lili1127 Yeah I think Hungary is very original I was in Hungary and I don't understand anything :) I don't think that Russian and Germán have similars but I never learn Russian so Maybe :) I think Slavic language are similar like Czech is similar to Slovak and some similars are in Polish :) but Czech and Hungary really have nothing Hungary is really original between languages :)

Hm, I don't know. I kinda feel that I don't know enough about her to judge her properly. I only lived in the last two and half decades of her reign, and I am not an expert on the earlier parts of it. I didn't live in the very controversial Diana era for example, and I don't know how much influence Elizabeth had on the things that happened then.
My overall impression about her is that she always did everything she could in her life for the monarchy's sake. She always had a strong sense of duty and she always submitted everything to the monarchy's interests. I think that and her sense of duty are admirable. She is the main reason the monarchy in Britain still stands.
But when it comes to her children, her heir (and Andrew......) it kinda seems to me that she could have done a much better job with them. But I don't know how much she can be blamed for her children's flaws.

Anne, if we only look at her years as queen, didn't even have time to do much (3 years). Yes, she was influential for history through the divorce but there is not much more (no way she was more influential than ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE). I would never put Anne on a list of the greatest queens. Neither would I do it with Marie Antoinette. She did behave bravely after the Revolution started, as you described, that is true, but otherwise I wouldn't call her a great queen as long as she had the time to be one. On the contrary. I don't say she was very bad, she was just not fit for the role.
I am quite sure I missed many very great queens in the video, especially non-Europeans who I don't have film about, but I don't think Anne or MA are those are so missing here. But that is just my opinion! Anne is certainly one of the most interesting and exceptional women figures in English history but I wouldn't call her great as queen (I'm sure if she had as much time as KoA for example, she would be that). But was she really the one with the most influence in the whole English history of queens consort? I doubt that (again, 3 years is nothing for that). There is William the Conqueror's wife Mathilda, ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE, Isabella of France, Edward III's wife Philippa, Margaret of Anjou, Elizabeth Woodville, Katherine of Aragon (she was even regent of England and won battles), the mad George III's wife Charlotte, etc.

Hürrem was the first very powerful woman in the Sultanate of Women, and Kösem was the most powerful one, that's why they made this "The Greatest" video. Sorry if this is so bad for you...

In my opinion, Cixi was not "great", in China they still criticize for her responsibility to let Qing Dynasty (and China, of course) fall down. She was powerful but in Chinese history there are many empresses acted as regents and ruled over the country. Only in the Qing Dynasty, Empress Xiaozhuangwen was more influential and successful than her. OK, she may be one of the most famous empresses but there are other greater Chinese women acted as rulers.
I understand, but I rather took into account the international views about her. World historians usually consider her remarkable and one of the most powerful women in the world in the 19th century. I guess it's because of the era we talk about. In the 19th century, the world was already much more interconnected and a Chinese ruler had a lot more impact worldwide than in previous eras, like in the era Empress Xiaozhuangwen ruled. Cixi is the most famous and most recognized internationally by far, even much more than Wu Zetian. Of course she is controversial, like most women in the video and many of the important figures in history.
@@Lily1127channel I understand, but that means your view is based on the little knowledge about East-Asia of 19th century westerners, doesn't it? I'm sorry but in this situation international view = western view, right? I live in the Far East and have a similar perspective to the Chinese, Cixi may be famous and powerful compared to her predecessors but if being both great and powerful, it should be other Chinese women.
Of course since I live in Europe my "little" knowledge is based on what I can read in the languages I understand. I don't know what Western view is for you, I live in Eastern Europe, but I guess that also counts as Western since it is west from China. International view means international, aka whole world assessment. But as you can see in my videos, I am very interested in the history of other parts of the world, not just Europe.
I just pointed out how non-Asians see Cixi and other Chinese empresses, I don't doubt that what you say about her is true from the point of view you see her. Obviously, since I'm from Europe, I can mainly know international opinions about her and not particularly Chinese and Asian opinions.

@@Lily1127channel There are many conflicting opinions Lili. Some even say that Jodha was not a real queen but a concubine who was sexually abused. Some say that her name(title) was Mariam ur Zamani(Mary of the Age) and she was a powerful tradeswoman who had the power to command the king(son of hers and Akbar's, his title was Jahangir) to stop trading with the Portuguese and British when they blocked her merchant ships. I hope the latter is the correct history. 😔
