Thank you. I know some people are bothered by it but others like you love it and that's really nice. It's mostly Cedar that you hear. He's a real chatterbox, even though I cover their cage every time I film. ;)
I get a similar feeling to you where some of these bags and accessories make me feel nostalgic. I really wanted a Kate Spade handbag that looked like a white shaggy dog a couple years ago, but I let myself be talked out of it because I was 62 years old. And you are also correct, Autumn, about high end brands designing these novelty or Pop Art handbags and SLGs and charging high prices for them. If I could afford one, I would definitely a Judith Lieber handbag; I love the whimsy, but, holy cow are they steep.
Unrelated, but have you seen the Gucci key ring and cardholder that has a dachshund on it? I immediately spent too much money on the key ring. Because that’s what doxie owners do.
🖌️🖼️🎨Interesting. I don’t have pop art bags but I used to dye leather belts in a small shop. I have been thinking about an abstract print on a practice bag with dye. Then…I look around and there seems to be a lot of things I’m in the middle of. … 🤔 I would still like to do it.. even have a bag..interesting talk. Thanks. ❤️💐
I have both those Coach cardholders. I use them to hold Metro cards and museum membership cards. I wish I had the other two Coach came out with. Hopefully, I will find them one day. My thoughts about the Goyard St. Louis Totes: to me, they look like the kind of shopping bags you buy at the supermarket. What I'd love to find is the tiny IKEA blue bag. I wish I'd bought it. I've also seen a tiny Trader Joe's wallet sized insulated bag. I do have luxury SLGs, but sometimes I just like things that make me smile.
Omg as an amateur artist, English teacher, and handbag addict -- I absolutely loved this - so smart! Now I can't get the KSpade m&m clutch out of my head...! lol
I have an eBay Diet Coke bag, bought as a decoration piece, not to wear. I did not know it was inspired by a luxury version. I also have a take-out bag, likewise, only as decoration. Thank you for the video!
Such an interesting video. Some of them are so 🤔, but art is subjective. 😁 I love a handbag as an art piece. Your ring and glasses are so pretty. TFS 🥰
I have a pretty classic Anya Hindmarsh mini bucket bag from about 8 years ago -love it .I would only add a fun bag charm but would not invest in a crazy pop art bag.
Okay, I absolutely loved so many of the things you showed and now I want to hunt some down. That being said.....Oh Autumn....how old you made me feel. I have some of the items from the bazooka and cracker jack Coach drop. I was thinking they were from just a couple years ago...but I fear you area right they are probably over 10 years old...now I just feel old. :-)
Great video. I will not be purchasing pop art bags. I think some of them are very cute and do remind me of my childhood. I’m over 60 yrs and I would feel silly carrying one.
Very interesting video! I’m not a fan of pop art but I do love some of the artist collaborations that have been done, Basquiat and Fasset come first to mind. I hope I spelled them correctly. I’m not sure why all of a sudden this pop art trend seems to have taken off. But since it’s probably been a couple of years in production, the pandemic sounds most logical.
I think pop art, Americana, specially western trends we are seeing now in designs have to do with nostalgia. On another note, I have been admiring your ring, I love the bold design ( I am a big ring lover myself) and admire your jewelry, maybe you can do a video of your jewelry collection someday
Interesting video. I enjoy seeing photos of these items but would not want one. I feel no connection to any of these brands. I'm not sure what it says about us that they are pretty much all junk food, but to each their own.
I can appreciate the creativity behind pop art bags but can't see spending luxury dollars to be in on a joke when there are so many more accessible options. I'd buy more of Kate Spade's novelty bags if they fit my giant phone! Also, some pop bags I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen yet: Stanley cup, and Costco hot dog. Both would make great clutches.
Great video! I personally do not really care about promoting commercial brands which have their own multi million dollar advertising budget. I do not feel a deep connection to Coke or Heinz even though I have been buying their products all my life. I do enjoy pop art. Buy I have a big problem with branded products. Coke should be kicking back money to me instead of me carrying a hand bag that gives them free advertising. But this video is very interesting on several levels. Good job!
With some (most?) of these, the term that comes to mind is product placement. Honestly, I am not sure who is paying whom: is Mars paying Kate Spade to market M&Ms bags and bag charms, or is Kate Spade licensing Mars's trademarks? Regardless, I am sure that money is changing hands. I wouldn't buy any of these, except perhaps some of the bag charms. I have found that the best place to get cute, kitschy, and/or nostalgic pieces is an art fair. (Actually, art fairs and similar events are great places to get leather goods, period.) I've seen many creative takes on, say, 1950s advertising for beauty products or 1970s record album art. For this type of product I'd rather my money go to a craftsperson than to LVMH. In fact, it bothers me a little to see truly everyday objects such as trash bags turned into a handbag that only a wealthy person can afford. It's a bit like charging $200 for a designer trucker hat, only less practical. I agree that it's the opposite of making art accessible. Regarding bag charms, I like them. I am flabbergasted by some of the prices, though. But then, I think that many or even most luxury bags are priced well beyond any possible value added due to hand craftsmanship or better quality leather.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well done. I too love the birdies.
You really shine as an art history teacher here! Great video!
I could listen to you all day! So eloquent, informative, and you have such a nice calming voice but you also keep me interested. 🖤
Thank you Autumn. I always enjoy your fresh take on things. Sometimes it’s okay not to take ourselves so seriously. Love the battery pouch. Fun!

Fantastic video! I loved the art history lesson that you threw in. Wonderful.

This was funnn! I saw so many things I now want. I’d love to have that pink Bazooka gum tote…no idea how much Bazooka I chewed in my youth.😂

Great topic and well done!
Great video! I don't particularly care for the pop art stuff, but it was fun seeing it. Really like your earrings and ring!

Kitsch is a German word? 😮
I definitely knew the word exists in German and English, but I had no idea, it came from Germany 😁
