- Jodie Rosen knew exactly what her client’s builder-basic house needed to feel fresh again. “They wanted a more youthful and functional feel in the kitchen,” says Jodie, who opened up the space into the family room for a more modern and breathable layout. See how Jodie injects her elegant and tailored design style into every room with gold and black accents, dramatic stone, statement lighting - and plenty of storage!

For me, this is the dream!!! Beautiful and livable, sometimes people forget that we live in our homes. All that storage space will help that family grow until great grandchildren come along. Simply breathtaking. The powder room is my new inspiration for life goals so chic, and peaceful. Just what guest need. Be wowed but welcomed as well.
Great job incorporating the storage cabinetry. Always a clever move.
Stunning!! That black rug, though darkens it all and somehow appears to cheapen the room, for lack of a better term. I can imagine dust and dirt all over it. But literally everything else is amazing.
Oh wow, yet another white kitchen and almost all white aesthetic throughout the house! Is that all the featured H&H designers can do? Is that the only demarkation of wealth and good taste?
To their credit they added a Tom Ford coffee table book - I don't think that's been done before ;)
very white! needs more texture.
These houses are starting to all look the same. Plus, I find it funny that for the entrance she says you didn't have a place to put your bag/shoes, well, you still don't!
I was just thinking the same thing
I love the large cabinets in the loving room. So much storage.
I hate the open shelves, but I love the new storage cabinets. I also love the openness.
Used to be the Hermes blanket now it is the Tom Ford coffee table book. Almost EVERY Reno has it including this one. 😂. What is with that? Gorgeous Reno tho,
I thought the Tom Ford coffee table book was declared a cliché 3 years ago. Ditto the Hermes throw. Also, more and more designers are debating the value of a pot filler tap above the stove. Huge expense for plumbing, and you still have to cope with getting the full pot of water off the stove when you're finished cooking. I guess you could bail it out, but if you're going to do that, save yourself the plumbing expense and fill the pot the same way in reverse.
I agree. The Tom Ford book, Hermes throw, beads, and links have all become tacky and outdated. Every time I see them now, I can't help but laugh and roll my eyes.🙄
I love when there is wood cabinetry/storage mixed with painted cabinets, like what’s behind the breakfast table area. It’s a very unique look. Also ADORE the wood lined entry ways. Very pretty, very custom looking. I’d love to incorporate that into my own home.
Love how modern but cosy it is!!!
I like that you brightened up a somewhat dark, dated space. ❤
interesting that the living and dining rooms were made smaller - I also would want more 'human' sized rooms! Especially in exchange for storage💯
Definitely. Love the idea of making rooms smaller and more intimate so well crafted storage and built ins can be added. It’s those kinds of things that make a house feel well designed and cozy.
What makes the previous kitchen, "poorly designed"?
Absolutely beautiful!
The previous kitchen didn’t look poorly designed. It was also beautiful. The sink overlooked windows, which is ideal. It was right next to the dishwasher for convenience. It already had a large island. It appears the remodel eliminated countertop space. I’m getting bored of these kitchen remodels where they all look the exact same. Same layout. Same materials. Same colors. Beautiful yet boring.
The problem was mostly the very dark floors & the kitchen backsplash but the kitchen layout was ok like you said.
It's not a functional kitchen if it doesn't work for the actual owners, and apparently it didn't work for them.
The previous kitchen was dated and not well designed. The sink overlooked a dining table not a window. It doesn't look exactly the same at all. Everything has been moved. The materials are different. The colours are different. And it now works for the owners and is well designed. You might need an eye test.
@@thelalanz73 I was saying this kitchen has been done a million times. It’s absurd how many kitchens look identical to this one with the same materials, finishes, and colors. It is beautiful. But it is BORING. Houses are more interesting when they tell a story about the people who live there. Things they personally like, photographs, artwork, decor that’s unique to them and their style or travels. I want to see some personality. The Tom Ford book displayed is a great example of the monotony. I personally can’t wait until the all white, brass, marble, or (marble-like but with a quirk) countertops are a thing of the past. I don’t need my eyes checked. That’s just MY opinion.
@@thelalanz73 Kirsten Dunst is a great example of what I’m talking about. Even though her style and mine are worlds apart, I absolutely loved watching her AD home tour. She designed her house to show her own, personal, style. It’s so refreshing and wonderful.
Just lovely!
Wow, what a stunning transformation!😍😍
It’s nice but too white 😅
Love the barstools❤
Beautiful kitchen and design❤❤
Three words: love love love 😊
Transformation is incredible 😍
Not to be picky, but I would have made the cabinets in the family room hidden as well. Not fussy for the handles and the overall look of wall to wall cabinets on that wall.
Yes, hidden storage! You don't want a continuation of the kitchen cabinets, I don't think.
LOVE, wish I can afford this remodel.
Very nice job.
It is nice and bright and airy. Good thing she did not do a corner kitchen, she continued with vertical storage. That's how it should be done. Too much handles, it would be much better without any handles. What canadian designer will do without open shelves for visual noise. They see vacant space and they put open shelves or a bench. And that is the only solution.
What fabric is on the sofa?
Amazing transformation. So elegant and bright!
Whenever there's a white kitchen or a neutral palette, there's at least one person complaining in the comments about it. It's not your home and clients wanted it. Chill.
When is H&H going to feature designers who use color and pattern? This beige/white troupe is not very interesting anymore.
Yet another white, beige and black house…
No personality 😢😮😮
Another CTRL+C, CTRL+V home. Bring back separate rooms! This is such a sterile and unoriginal design.
No No No!
Me ha gustado mucho el cambio ❤
