Just ordered an Explorer. Saw the article in Guitarist and lo and behold just found this. No one who has reviewed this guitar seems to have a bad word to say about it :). Now i'm sitting patiently for it's arrival. :)
My dream guitar since i was a kid has been a Korina explorer, and now its FINALLY attainable and im eagerly waiting for when i can click the order button!
I love mine, I got it in the summer of 2023. It sounds great and plays great. Just need to be careful walking through the aisle ways with it since the back sticks out further than my other guitars. Also, the case is much larger than a standard Strat or Les Paul case, so prepare for extra storage space. Great Job by Epiphone and Gibson!
100% worth every penny. I just bought the ‘58 ‘Inspired by Gibson Custom’ Korina V. Solid Korina, ‘50s style chunky neck, BurstBuckers, CTS, Switchcraft, Mallory components, and a ‘50s style triangular case. All the good stuff. An equivalent Gibson is $10k. So if it’s a legit Korina V you want, and can’t spring for the $10,000, you’re buying the Epiphone for $1300.
Waited all the way through the video to see the Flying V demoed, only to be told at the end that it wasn’t being. You could have mentioned it at the beginning.
I ordered the Explorer model here in Oz, $2600 AUS $ and that's the cheapest I found. My Gibson 2019 was cheaper? Anyway the supplier sent a V instead, they're looking into the screw up?
@@jasonl1942 Hi Jason, Sky Music but they were only getting one of each? Still waiting for confirmation of my order to arrive. They have a V I know that much
@@richieswell666 WAY too exy for the Australian market! Shane works a lot with Sky. They are a good shop, but over priced! The owners are Japanese, so imp a lot of high end JP pianos etc. For THAT price, you may as well buy an actual Gibson! For a CN made Epi, $2600 is utterly ridiculous! ANY high end Epi here should be around $1100-1200!
Whilst it's good to hear solos played, I personally spend most of the time playing chords/riffs with a solo somewhere in the middle if I'm lucky! Can I suggest a bit more chordal work in these videos? I'm especially interested in how a guitar handles chord note separtion when a bit of gain is applied, for example...
100% agree with you. I know many Guitarist readers are great advanced solo players for sure, but many of us are just beginner-to-intermediate level and we can't just solo that good. And IMHO the rhythm guitar is the meat and potatoes of rock and roll so maybe it would be great to have more attention from you Guitarist editors. Anyway I love your work!!
Guitar prices are becoming actually crazy. Maybe they are being made with the same wheat grain we imported from Ukraine, and the war just made the prices go up. Or something.
@@Roosterscoope I have seen that indeed, being there meanwhile as well. I just have to make you remember this is being made in China. I bet you already know not even a 10% of the price will end up in the workers pockets, don't you? Please don't go the hard work way to justify the price of a made in China guitar.
@zackamodeo-thomson8010 or just get the Gibson USA mahagony explorer which has the same electronics and pickups for 2300 Canadian. Which is only 500 more than this epi . I have a 2018 USA explorer and it beat out some custom shop explorers I tried .
So your saying you can tell it's not a Gibson, huh? Amazing! Keep saving, maybe someday you can get yourself a REAL one right? Guys like you are why Gibson can charge 10k for one. Hilarious.
So there's three distinct categories? Epiphone. Good Epiphone. And Gibson? This infers that ALL Gibsons are somehow magically superior to ANY Epiphone? When in reality, more people have been burned, by paying thousands of dollars more for the Gibson name on the headstock. They're guitars man. There's good ones and bad ones. Gibsons name on it, doesn't change this.

Got mine ordered, due in July! And learning free bird solo to play on it! 👌
Sweet man! Im determined to get mine also, saving up
I wanted this guitare in 1998 but i was a 16 yo kid and couldn't afford it. Now I still want this guitare and i'm 42 but still can't afford it dammit

Great playing! Oh yeah the coolest guitar ever designed and created! What's not to love?
So sick, I want this in my collection
That's my favorite view of a guitars neck. Can see the "action."
Lovely but I’m not sure if I can quite pull off the required on-stage swagger!
One great guitar is better than 10 average ones.
thanks for this demo!!! You said the body is very light! Is there a neckdive?
1000+ for an Epi?
In case you haven’t noticed, everything has gone up in price.
@@ItsJustRyan89 you are correct and I did notice, but it does not feel right...

I like this one more that the V; it fits well over the thigh while playing seated.

What made you think this was an Explorer "AND" Flying V demo. There are flying v videos and Explorer videos and sometimes both ...... ???
@@ThePreAmpChannel Because if you read the comment above you’ll realise that the original title of the video said it was a demo of both.

Many problems with Gibson style guitars....a few being neck dive, wieght, and fat neck shapes in my opinion.
