    I've had three of these...2000, 2003, and 2005...all V8s. I've also had Continentals and Town Cars from 1997-2005. In my opinion, the LS was the best car Lincoln ever made.

      Best car Lincoln ever made, because it wasn't a true Lincoln

    I really miss seein these. My dad had one in the soft blue and I loved everything about it. Classy and very comfortable inside.

    These were great cars. My dad had two of them. I inherited the last one before he passed away. Very comfortable, lots of power. Just a really nice car that had a special feeling about it. Kinda wish I didn’t sell it, but it wasn’t a friendly car to do work on.

    My Dad had a 2001, In a gold color. That was quite a cool ride.

    Very underrated cars. Tasteful design, good powertrains, priced right, etc. My aunt bought one new (V6 automatic) and drove it 202,000 miles without issue, and I saw a couple at the import garage that managed to outlast their European competitors despite owner abuse (Jaguars were the same way, actually-much more durable than they get credit for).

    Mine was an LS V8 Sport (uprated suspension, larger wheels and tires, 'stickshift' auto) with upgraded sound, in dash 6 changer CD, moonroof and a bunch of other items. Underrated car (but it had some glaring flaws too). Unfortunately quality was not there and by 80,000 miles it ws ready essentially for scrap. Might just have had a bad example and it's a shame Lincoln never developed it beyond a facelift. The Zephyr, cough, Fusion, was not (!) a replacement.

    These reached hooptie status really quick. With the Jaguar handling came Jaguar quality, unfortunately. And since this and the S Type were the only vehicles to use most of the parts (along with a handful of retro TBirds), availability was low on replacement parts, prices were high, and Ford dropped parts support at around the federally mandated 8 year minimum mark.
    I'm not sure how it has the only V8 in its class, since the Aurora existed and literally was this car's main domestic competitor.

    I actually worked at a Lincoln-Mercury dealer back in the early 2000s and we sold a lot of these cars.

      That’s awesome, tell me more, I’m always interested to learn more especially if there was a lot of recalls issued or TSBs thank you for your time

      @@dennisglodoski6365 I'm trying to remember, I don't recall anything over the top. Black and this olive green color were really popular colors. The battery was in the trunk, which I found to be a tad odd.
      I remember Consumers reports gave the car a poor rating in reliability, we had a couple that came in broken down but it wasn't a lot. Then again, this was back when they were fairly new, 2001-2004.
      The continental was killed off in 2002 and I suspect potential buyers were pushed towards the LS.
      I worked for the dealer for 3 1/2 years, good times.

    I'm surprised Lexus didn't sue Ford for the use of the LS name. I would have called it the Mark LS to avoid confusion. Still it was a great car to have.

    • @gsxellence
      @gsxellence 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They called it the LS V6 and LS V8
      Just as Saturn did the same with the LS to LS200/300 to later L200/30p.
