Im glad Jonas/Mew aren't more popular because they arent your typical band, when it comes to their music you either understand it's meanings and beauty or you don't and I don't think a lot of people do because of the way society works these days. This music is a true example of artwork, it's very uncommon to see a painter paint something they don't want to paint however you see bands these days play music they hate just to make money, etc but Jonas/Mew play what they love which is true artwork.
One of my favourite Mew-related songs. Jonas sometimes is able to do what The Smiths did all the time, which is taking a happy melody and adding something to it which makes it incredibly sad. I think the last 30 seconds or so is proof of that, simply because of the guitar tone mixed with the chord progression. Brilliant tune - even for something off a soundtrack!
@DarkDejection being popular has nothing to do with not being good... i actually would love if Mew and Jonas Bjerre could become more popular, i think that they are a great band, and they deserve the recognition... and its a bit sad to have something so nice and beautiful and not share it... it would be so nice if more people could see the genius of their work, and the love they have when they play their music, that as you mentioned is true artwork.
@edutuario I agree with you completely but I suppose I wasn't clear enough before, what I meant to say was that I just don't want them to get taken for granted, they are special and I would hate for them to be treated any less than that.
@luisale130 oh that's awkward, I posted the same thing twice! haha :P that's so awesome, yay! I knew he'd done some other stuff before Mew, like 'Day without Sun,' etc but this is most excellent :) :), I love his sound so much!
Jonas is truly Denmark's national treasure.
