I believe its a myth created by youtubers, to explain their views dropping, instead of it being just stale boring content. Maybe you also dont get pushed as hard on the recommended tab, with non regular uploads, but subscribers see the videos every time. And i never clicked any bell or activated notifications or similar activities
Politely disagree. I've had videos of ThatDudeInBlue's not show up or send notifications. One video sent me a notification 2 weeks after it came out. While getting to know him personally, he genuinely has proof from hundreds of subscribers who send screenshots of them not receiving videos in their sub box. What I think it is, is TH-cam picks accounts that don't watch every single video from said person, and doesn't send them the notifications.
However, it does also seem to be a good excuse for TH-camrs. For example: David Patterson has almost 1 million subscribers, and averages around 50-100k a video (Pretty low, right?). Unless he makes a Honda review, Integra video, or Mustang video, that number doesn't change. I think his loss in views is purely reliant on a lot of subscribers only subbed for one or two things, and ignore the rest of his content.

Evan Shanks touched on the notification subject a while back. Apparently there’s a setting in the bell button that notifies you occasionally vs every time a vid is uploaded. Weird but the occasional notification is the default when the bell is applied.
I wish you would do a LS swap into one of the cars so you can experience the ease, power and reliability of the swap...maybe then realizing why everyone does it.
