    You’ve got such a vivid personality it makes ‘planning’ come alive. And thanks for being so open about your personal goals and sharing your notes - it’s what makes your videos so real.

    I have been watching for a bit for some ideas and such and have learned a lot and have enjoyed it. But I want to give you props (massive respect) for your "heads up" about the weight/numbers talk. That shows a great deal of awareness, and I haven't seen that very often. Thank you for that small but vital aspect to your video! ❤️

      @paulashealthyliving ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes.. it isn't an issue for me and I'm interested in that part of planning (it's similar to the way I do it). but thanks for your sensitivity to others who might find it triggering at this point in their journey

    I love that your planning is messy and real and ever changing. Definitely helps take the pressure off making perfect spreads we see on IG. Plus all the different sections, the new stuff you try, it truly reflects a life that is working towards something and not just on keeping the pages full

    I love your videos ❤. You’re so real and honest about your process. Everything is not perfect like so many others and it helps me accept my messy planning when things don’t turn out like I envisioned

      That is EXACTLY what I want to help with Jessica! Nothing is perfect and planners are supposed to be documents of our lives, not picture perfect! I'm happy you commented and shared

      It’s so underrated as a neutral, everyone loves those warm browns and I’m just over here like. But I want my planner to feel like a cloud though 😌

    23:24 I love seeing how you changed "Monday" to "Wednesday" - you made it look cute! I'm always fighting against the urge to throw the whole planner out and start over when I make small mistakes like that 😆 OF COURSE we all know mistakes are a part of life, not sure why that's so hard for me.

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  ปีที่แล้ว

    Muscle weighs more than fat. When I finished Army Basic, I had gained 15 lbs but hard to tell. I was stronger, could run all over or march many miles. My uniform fit better, my arms & legs looked better, not like little sticks. Was still wearing same size clothes. The more muscle you have, the faster you lose fat and can burn more calories.

    It has taken me about 6 weeks to get into a rhythm in my common planner and I've realized three things. 1) I need a consistent layout. 2) I need a very simple color scheme in the weekly planning section. 3) I shouldn't pre-date my daily pages because things change and having blank daily pages or unchecked to-do's just makes me feel bad. My left column in the weekly is where I list out chores and other things I want to do at a high level only. When I'm ready to do the things, I add the details to that day's daily page and that becomes my commitment to do it that day. If I don't feel like doing it, it moves to the next week. If I feel like I want to pre-plan a project like my garage spring cleaning weekend, I'll put a page in the daily section with the project name instead of the date, and that way it's clear that it's just notes for later and subject to change.

    Love GTD! Maybe instead of doing his big sweep of everything you just start implementing as you go? I use my dailies as my inbox. Every month I set up a projects list and a next actions spread (dividing the page into my different contexts, like photocopying, marking, computer, kitchen tasks etc). It saves me so much time when I can batch things. Whatever I don’t complete gets migrated forward to the next month. In my dailies, whatever tasks don’t get completed either get migrated back to the next actions list or migrated to tomorrow.

    Another great video! I really enjoy watching your videos on Sunday evenings while I’m doing my own planner things 😊
    Do you have any favorites for digital sticker art? I’m newish to planning and don’t know a ton of shops, but I’m getting really into printing stickers 😅

      I love that you watch my videos on Sundays while you plan!! That's my dream.
      I don't really purchase digital art, just physical stickers and stuff. I don't have a printer. But my favorite shops for physical supplies are SweetFreckledDesigns, TheCoffeeMonsterzCo., and Rabbit Hole Hand Craft. SterlingInk and Paper Minty Studios also have really great options for kits and stickers, and I thiiiink some printables.

    I very always been a little hesitant to get the Cousin but seeing the Common Planner in use it looks like such a great fit for me! Thanks for your videos with it! Do you have recommendations for coffeemonsterzco sicker sizes to use in the B6 CP? I'd like to get some that don't over fill the boxes and don't know wich ones would be best. Tia❤

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for commenting Tia! I love the Cousin and common planner style planners so much, they're truly amazing. I don't use kit stickers or boxes much in my planners, so I don't have recommendations for what boxes work well where. I will say the b6 common planner vertical weekly day column is only one box smaller than the A5 Cousin, so you I have seen a lot of people use Cousin kits and boxes in their weeklies with some success.

    I’m not sure if my question is going to make sense, but I’m going to try. I’m in an A6 hobonichi…kinda hate it because I’m realizing I’m not really a daily planner. One thing that doesn’t really work for me is how the times are aligned with the lines instead of the boxes, and I’ve never been able to figure out if I should write my appointments below the line that corresponds with the time or above it. Does the common planner have the line inside the box so it’s clear where the appointment goes? I hope that makes sense.

    • @RachelleinTheory
      @RachelleinTheory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Makes total sense! And no, it doesn't. The time is on the line. I think most vertical weeklies are like this because that's when the time STARTS. so it's 11 a.m. "at" the 11 a.m. line. If you look at digital calendars, you'll see mostly the same thing.
      However, if you wanted to get an undated planner or a blank notebook to play around in, there are lots of sticker or washi tape sets that you could use to paste in the times right where you want them. I have a washi tape that lists 1 - 12 and fits in a 5 mm grid notebook (your standard bullet journal) from Sunshine Sticker Co., or Sterling Ink also makes their own that fits the specific size of their planners. So you could buy that and just place it where it works for you :)

    • @debbiedeas
      @debbiedeas ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RachelleinTheory thank you for the suggestion. I’ve seen those tapes before but forgot about them. I hadn’t thought of digital calendars doing the same thing. 🤔 I’ll have to check that out.
