I realized something that kinda makes me sad. There is a reason why i don't enjoy watching funny moments from american rappers sometimes. I think it is because of all the cursing. I am a caribbean woman and just like koreans we do curse, however we don't do it often. Even though I really love my american rappers I feel like so many of them were brought up in toxic environments and they learned habits that actually should not be tolerated and that sometimes are even annoying (and some of them even became bad human beings themselves but that is another discussion for another day...). For example it should not be allowed for men to constantly call women bitches. They constantly call black women bitches and hoes or this stupid word...females... as if women are animals. The only time this word should be used is biology class. Men who abuse black women on the daily get worshipped as if they are gods and i am getting tired of it. Black women constantly point out when those men have stupid misogynoiristic takes but people don't care. It also annoys me that it sometimes seems as if they can't be funny without talking about drugs and gangs or rape jokes colorist jokes etc., just all the wrong jokes. I know that is how they grew up and they might not know any better, which is why I try to not be too hard on them, but I also have to admit that it makes me sad sometimes. Even though korean rappers do also curse (and i am sure that some of them are also misogenistic), they don't have a curse word in every damn sentence and that is why I enjoy watching. I like how they talked about wanting to be fathers. That was heartwarming. IDK. Just alot going on in my head right now. I hope african americans one day get born into a world that isn't built to oppress them so that they can get the life that they deserve. Disclaimer: I am mostly talking about black cis male rappers.
