Agreed. I wish they brought back Oud Wood Intense, but kept it as a private blend fragrance due to the rarity of some ingredients in it. I love the castoreum note and the funky Oud smell. It’s incredible.
I’ve smelled both of them (original private blend and signature, haven’t tried the acqua one) both as samples, and they’re incredibly close. To my nose, they smell exactly the same.
Out of all the Tom Fords I’ve smelled, Costa Azzura is my favorite. I’m not really a fan of how heavy and clawing Tom Fords can be. They all smell very mature, maybe 50s and up, me being 25 I prefer vibrant, light, airy fresh fragrances with expensive quality.

Interesting name, Darbouka is a North African drum, made from Cow's leather. Seems like they name their scents after instruments by the name "l'orchestre"!
I do not fully agree. Costa Azzurra IS interesting but it is by NO MEANS a COMPLIMENT GETTER. If comparing to CREED AROLFA take the latter. Check reviews. Far more positive than Costa Azzura. Not worth the price in my oppinion.
this is one of those scents that doesn't work on my skin. may sound weird, but after spraying it on once at a sephoras for testing, all I could think of were condoms. so a big pass for me, haha it is nice that Tom Ford is making more of these frags more affordable though.

Possibly but not necessarily. Sometimes the private blends are overpriced just to make the fragrance more esoteric as far as who can obtain it and such. Them lowering the price was just so they can reach a larger audience and providing more incentive for the relatively average or middle class consumer to purchase it. That’s my theory .

Both mefisto and costa azzurra came in the mail today. I blind bought mefisto and I smelled azzura at a store and loved it. These fragrances smell nothing alike. To me this is salty aquatic and fresh, while mefisto smells like an old church lady. To me it’s so feminine there’s no way a man could ever pull it off. Azzurra is way more masculine leaning to me.

Got a tester of this with my Chanel order. It’s nice, just smells like really good quality leather to me. Not sure I’ll pick up yet
