So good to know that new citizens of Australia do not have to swear allegiance to the British monarch anymore, even though Australia is still under the British Crown and although independent, is not yet truly sovereign in its own right.
1) Someone, please explain to me that when a government defects from the monarch in the 70's.... which or better still, what Queen is one pledging allegiance, too? After all, defection means to step away from a ruling Monarch. 2) When did Australia ever have a Queen? Never, Australia only ever had a "Head of State" No coronation has EVER been held in Australia for a Queen, which means Australia has NEVER had a Queen. 3) If a country has defected from the ruling Monarch, how can a country still be a part of a commonwealth and pledge an Allegiance? Who is the allegiance being pledged, too? 4) If a country's constitution requires a referendum by law in order to modify it, when was a referendum held by law to stand aside the country's original constitution, "The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution 1901" set down by Queen Victoria, as having been replaced without referendum commonly known and currently in effect and titled as "The Australia Act Constitution 1986." Which in both instances equates to Treason. You've all been conned.
