Gene Watson ...my very favorite country music singer and star. He is the very best of the best. What a kind and generous gentleman. Love from Debbie and Dexter-Dog in southern California. 🐾👍💕✝️
as good today as he was 40 years ago! saw him and talked with him ,wow, what a great guy. the greatest voice around. why he's not in the hall of fame is a crying shame!!
A wonderful man with a voice that no one can match in this life time he is a legend and a rare gem that we still have we have lost so many I think is so awesome that we have had the opportunity to have each and everyone of the legends to touch our lives it is a shame that we no longer have the ones who has paved the road to country music and has shared their lives with us R.I.P. All of our legends y'all left us way before it was time
i have a cousin who is really sick and this song remindes me of her over the years. Her roses come in the shape of pies, beaded items, Christmas decorations and what ever but thanks Bobbie Sue for your roses!
It AINT COUNTRY MUSIC ANYMORE, so called singers masquerading as C/W singers, two of the best left GENE WATSON & BOBBY BARE, When they are gone NOBODY LEFT ! but second rate singers, the OLD HANDS COULD WRENCH YOUR SOUL by the way they PHRASED A SONG, CRAP TODAY, I am pleased I kept my collections to listen too, I just turn the TV or Radio of, nothing left ?? 89 now but still play a bit ACCORDION was a semi pro in uk, but we still have a few left who are hangin in there ??
To me this song is really about our mother Mary, because wherever she appeared, there was the scent of roses. Miracles, big and small, everyday - for those who look.
Gene never disappoints his fans. He puts so much h eart and sole to everything He does. I love this song but my favorites are Fare Well Party and I For get you everyday. Gene I know your happily married but I dream of you all the time. I've had a crush on you for 50years. So foregive me .
Well...how very wrong can anyone be??!! There is a lovely song "Paper Roses" which I thought I was about to be hearing a new version of. Instead, this totally new song, to me, began and was worth every second of the listening. What a lovely song; full of meaning and a little story that should touch every kind heart! Thank you,Mark...you are a treasure chest full of hidden gems; maybe being in the UK means they are all something new to me and that is just like opening a little gift if you love music. Well,I do! Karen x
Lots of beer. Lots of cards and lots of GREAT memories. How about the new CW Junk today. That stuff can never come close to this song today! You'll hear this song in the background in the movie Another 48Hrs 2.
Great song, great singer & intro'd by the late, great Charlie Douglas, of "Me and Dammit Ray" comedy fame. Thanks to Dale Sommers aka "The Truckin' Bozo" who in the mid 80s had an all-nite "Oldies" Country radio show on the 50k Watt WLW, Cincy, OH, that reached 38 States east of Rockies, Sommers used to play his old pal Douglas' comedy bits from Dammit Ray album tween talking to truckers & spinning classics, like this by Gene. Didn't realize CD scored TV gig thnx to Bozo resurrecting his career.
Hooray! You got it back up! Its the only live video by Gene there is, and missed it in my list on YT. Love watching him sing. Hi dollydimple1000! :)) Thanks a bunch Dirk. A huge sky full of stars for you. Sharon
I love this song my uncle use to sang this before he was killed in a car wreak at the age of 33yrs old in 1988 just after his birthday May 17 ,1955, and on May 29, 1988, no one was home, but me and a sheriff knock on the door and she didn't know really what it was about and had to call a state trooper and I was telling him I was the only one home I didn't know how to contact him and he said we're not looking for him we're looking for you a family member and I said okay I'm his neice and the only one around at the time can I help you, and he said we're not looking for him, we're looking for him, we're looking for a family member of his and I said Im the only one around right now and when they said fatal it didn't hit me at first what he was was meaning but when it hit me, I stayed strong to get my grandmother and my mother the word and my aunt got me took me to my mother's ( grandmother was outta town) her son went and told my dad we were on our way to get her and what had happened, but when it got to me, it was like they we're looking for him and I called the trooper and told him I didn't know how to get him, and the trooper said we're not looking for him we're looking for you or a family member he has been killed in a car wreak and we need a family member to come and talk to us, and sign something for his body to be sent to a funeral home we wanted. I don't know where my uncle is at this time but the lord took him home and that's all that matters, and people say oh u'll get over it as time passes, but it's doesn't, and it's what year 2020, and guess what, I'm not over it yet and it's been how many yrs from 1988 to 2020, and guess what I'm still not over it and never will be til the lord takes me home to be with him, thank you for reading this, SDD 2020
