I love that we still have some judges who believe in following laws, but i hate that we still have corrupt judges who refuse to follow laws! Frustrating!
Unless you’re convicted of voting fraud or something similar, disenfranchisement is not an appropriate criminal punishment. Politicians will ignore, or even take advantage of, populations that can’t vote.

Is anyone surprised that Mississippi disenfranchises African Americans any way it can? As for paying the cost of incarceration, many states, restrict the kind of work ex-offenders can even apply for, limiting their ability to pay. And yet these states also run rent-a-prisoner programs. The money prisoners earn does not go to pay the cost of their incarceration. It goes to the for-profit prison or the state. Sometimes those incarcerated get to keep pennies. In Virginia, for example, the going rate until the early 2000's was 45 cents an hour. I wonder what happens to the money prisoners earn in Mississippi.

A person does the time for the crime, AND is released from probation - especially, NEEDS FULL RESTORATION OF ALL THEIR RIGHTS!
Absolutely!
It's story after story after stories like this that makes me wonder how any Black person could support the Republican party. The disrespect is real!
Thanks you very much for sharing 💙💙💙

Why can't someone like Bill Gates set up a "Fund" to pay for these fees AFTER the probations have been completed?
Get rid of the bias!
Thank you sophie!
I believe felons should have the right to vote, even while in prison.
I'm split on that 🤷♀️

I believe the last name Crowe has a E in it. My childhood friends were native American with their last name beings and spelled Crowe.
