I grew up listening to em for years. When I was a sophomore in high school so 2010 and have been hooked since. I have always said from that day he is the only one who can give em a run for his money. He has admitted to idolizing him but mgk knows he can hold his own. First white rapper to win at the apolo. Most people have only heard his pop type songs. Not many have heard his freestyle side and thats where he excels. Listen to chop of block from his mixtape lace up. Also listen to 100 words and running. His bet freestyle from 2012 was even amazing. I went to a concert in Cleveland ( live about 2 hours away) it was outside they called it block party. The dude performed on the roof of the building after being told to sit it out because he messed his knee up. Your dead on when you say he has a crazy fan base thats all he needs because they have been down since day one 1 he is not doing it for fame because he never forgets where he came from. Sorry for being so long just wanted to say why his fan base is so strong.
