So as a guy that fused like 600 golden samurai pets, I can say it’s worth it if you are confident, and are willing to lose total pet power for better pet team. You also do need to accept losing the pets you fuse so… good luck! With Golden Red Pandas (12), got a better chance getting a golden samurai dragon. You could also fuse those rainbow pets you got from fusing and also got a chance of getting a golden samurai dragon. My tip to feel lucky and believe that there’s luck in you. Good luck.
usually what I do to get the golden samurei dragons is I fuse 12 pandas and it works almost every time, so I recommend that. And 12 axolotls work too half of the time.

Russo the fusing in this game is random so no matter what you get its random so I would suggest just to directly upgrade them like for 1 pet to golden then to rainbow with a golden/rainbow machines so atleast its guaranteed that you get a better pet
