This is exactly what happened to me. After growing up with a father who beat and choked my mom for 15 years and a mom who neglected me to take care of my diabetic, epileptic, and brain damaged brother, I went out looking for the stability, love, and attention I didn't get from them. Wound up in one unhealthy relationship after another, and I suffered for it. HPV, cervical cancer surgeries, breast lumps, stomach issues, food allergies (I've had eating disorders for 30 years), and a forehead tumor. Nearly killed myself. (My mom killed herself, her mom killed herself, and my father's sister killed herself, so that runs in my veins.) Waking up and seeing that giant lump on my forehead in the reflection of my phone sent me running to God. Then God absolutely wrecked my life. Before him, I made 4k/month as a writer. I spent 2 weeks a year in Hawaii. Three months after I became a Christian, I lost my job while I was on Kauai. Despite double majoring and graduating summa cum laude, I've worked retail the past six years. I became homeless twice. Talk about embarrassed? I don't know if this would be considered as embarrassing but on yesterday (Bible study) we were reading Genesis 24th chapter and it clearly read on down that the damsel gave the master drink from THE PITCHER and then gave the ten camels drink from THE PITCHER now mind you it clearly says one PITCHER not PITCHERS well pastor told me we don't really know that something about history I said its written right here PITCHER I don't think further research will tell me different from what I can see as plain as day in the scriptures GOD SAID BELIEVE THE SCRIPTURES and that I'm going to do this is not the first time she also said cursed with a curse meet double curses I told her I did not see anywhere in the scriptures where it read two curses from that passage I must have been correct because she doesn't say that anymore and I don't want to correct her she has corrected me on things she has been right about I just don't want to end up questioning that's all
