In all ways, going ahead with the planned birthday party inspite of this tragedy was an insensitive venture. To tender a resignation for being chastised as a way of caution is even worse - smells of arrogance! We need to be CARE-FUL as believers especially as a Christian leader because of our influence. The wise thing to do would have been to resign(if need be) after observing the suspension - it's just 3 months!!!! Accepting the resignation may have just been a sympathy booster for you both, you know! - both from God and men!

To die in Christ is better. One day we will all go to heaven while we await the new earth. The kingdom of God is more important than the death of a Christian who only changed address to be with his maker while he awaits the new earth. Have a blessed week.
