    What's with the 29 thumbs down. This is just a regular guy sharing his experience with the LG WT7100CW washer. It's great that he took the time to make this video. I just bought this machine and was going to return it because I didn't really understand most of it's functions until I watched this. Turns out this machine is fairly simple to use. Thank you WillieMeetsWorld

Who's got time to wash clothes let alone all those gadgets. Don't need it. Im all about saving water. Cut you hair and take less time in the shower. But give my the water to wash my clothes.

    We just bought this washer from Lowes and wanted to research some reviews to ensure we bought a good model. I find so many websites and customer reviews are conflicted on which models are the best quality. Consumer reports seems to favor the LGs and this one received a high score. I appreciate you going to all the detail and your calming, friendly voice. You should consider being a narrator for audio books!

    Thank you for the demo! I have the same washer and purchased it mid July this summer. I noticed it was filling up with TOO much water after the 8-10 loads I have done since I moved. Even with the lightest load it was filling it to almost the brim of the tub and the agitator wasn't spinning as it should. Being it's still new, I couldn't really compare to see if what I was assuming was correct and it needed to get repaired. With your demo, I definitely now know that I am wasting soo much water and my clothes are not being cleaned well with the agitator working as it was on gentle cycle. NOTE: I use normal cycle as well and your demo really helped. I called LG to get service work order done. Thank god it's under warranty! They are coming tomorrow. :)

    Good review dude. I just bought the same model for a good deal. My old Maytag lid switch finally gave up and I did not want to mess with it. I also notice rust stains forming in the drum which means the inner parts are rusted. Gave the old beater to the neighbor since it still works and can be used for other than normal laundry such as rags.

  • @scottweaverphotovideo
    @scottweaverphotovideo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Very helpful vid, thank you! I just began using my new washer that's almost the same as this one. As far as loading in the manual it actually says not to places the clothes in a 'ring' arrangement. As to water levels I haven't tried the 'water plus' function but I definitely want more water filling the drum. With loads of towels they just got twisted around each other and the detergent and water could not possibly have worked their way thru the towels as required. I did not realize how much water saving is emphasized with these washers. I'm less concerned with that than getting my towels and clothing clean!

    • @tynejackson7342
      @tynejackson7342 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI! Did you find a resolution to the low water level? We ran our first load and the water level was so unexpectedly low
      (for our liking). Have you tried Water Plus function?

    • @scottweaverphotovideo
      @scottweaverphotovideo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tynejackson7342 after six months of use I can say it would be easier if we could set the exact water level manually. It's just very inconsistent and pretty annoying. I've tried every type of setting it offers. My biggest gripe, however, is the ridiculously short rinse agitation time. Sometimes it's about 30 seconds of actual agitation and that is NOT LONG ENOUGH to thoroughly rinse. Then it goes into drain and final spin, which can be ten minutes long. I'd prefer several more minutes of rinse agitation and less time spinning. But this is the washer I have now and I'll live with it.

    Just got one and still learning, thanks for this demo it helps. First thing I noticed was the time. At first I thought, that can't be right. I did a small load of heavy duty and it took 90 minutes. I could do a full heavy duty load in 20 minutes with my old school washer. That'll take some getting used to, especially on laundry day when we do 2-3 full loads of stuff.

      The unit has a fuzzy logic system. It senses the load and weight . It will decrease or increase . Also if all things are good like balance it will hold on time until it corrects the situation.

    Many (most?) areas will have stepped electrical rates. I once was calling about my electrical bill and the operated suggested I use the "delay" feature on my dishwasher and clothes washer so they came on after midnight when the electrical rates were the lowest. Find out when your cheapest electrical rates are during a 24 hour period and have these machine operate then.

    Question, do the Normal and Speed Wash Rinse cycles fill the tub with water to rinse? Mine does not, it just sprays and spins! A technician came out because my clothes are full of lint, he ran both the Normal and Speed wash one without the clothes and the other with the clothes that is full of lint and the clothes still have the lint all over. It just doesn't make sense that the tub doesn't fill with water to rinse and LG refuses to make it right. Please respond and let me know if your washer doesn't fill the tub in the rinse cycles.

    • @evangelinarueda6579
      @evangelinarueda6579 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @captain miscellaneous That isn't a solution, your video does not show the rinse cycle, any Normal cycle or any other cycle should rinse the same way which is the tub filling with water to rinse. So does your washer only spray and spin or does it fill the tub with water? If I add the the Water Plus, it goes to Deep Wash, I have the same problem with the Speed Wash, it only sprays and spins and the tub doesn't fill with water.

    Thanks for the video - how did you level this machine so it doesn't vibrate during the spin cycle? I followed the directions, leveling the 'front-to-back' and 'side-to-side' cabinet.... but then the 'wash drum' wasn't quite centered to the cabinet opening as required..... so I adjusted all four leveling legs of the washer to center the tub to the cabinet opening, and then the cabinet wasn't level..... but the drum did spin truer, without as much wobble (looking at the bottom center cap of the tub during the spin cycle)..... still, the cabinet seemed to vibrate excessively during certain mid-rpms of the spin cycle......

    In normal HE mode it does spray rinses from the blue nozzle. Or if you don't select softener rinse. 3 to 4 fills and then recirculate via blue nozzle wide spray pattern. Very GOOD RINSE SYSTEM .
    SOFTNER rinse fills with water ..a deep traditional rinse.. HE mode spray rinses then extracts the load ...if set to extra high or high spin at 950 RPM's.
    Great water removal and reduces at least 25 min of your drying time.
    Buy the way the call that a Wash plate or Infuser . The basket also plays a role in cleaning. The bubble shape indentations and the lines at the bottom also gently scrubs the textiles. Using the bedding cycle automatically will fill to the top. It also switch gears and the drum rotates without the wash plate in action. Also in any cycle it will use the Washplate then spin*wash by letting the water run thru clothes getting stains out quicker plus it's gentle on clothes. Someone said the blue nozzle is for a spot fill with the lid open. Sorry that is another brand Samsung or GE. Has a finger faucet in the basket area. Washing mostly vin HE is fine . It will bloom . Instead if the clothes coming in traditionally towards the center regular rollover. This will in HE or big loads called Blooming action. They come out if the center wash* plate reverse rollover going backwards and under again. It also does traditional rollover depending on cycle and low to medium and light weight clothing say on gentle . Or a deep wash water level. This has about 6 different rotation speeds on the Washplate as well as the spin wash.
    Low to med loads spin washes much more aggressive . Then with larger water level it will go slower . Because if weight and high water level. So say a white sick wash it would benefit from a small to med small load. For maximum cleanability and water power to clean.
    Wipe down the upper level stuff flies
    out of clothes makes a mess so I keep a wash cloth for wiping every time . This prevents build up of hair dust grass dirt cat or dog hair . Clean your dispenser once a month . Also clean your tub once a month and wash your basket that may have a line of build up crude from oils skin particals and soup build up. Use hot water and or warm washes to prevent the outer basket from build up. Cold only washes or good at times. But not consistently. You need hear to break down build up and mold it is a moisture trap all washers. Get Tide washer clean . Or other tub cleaners like Afresh tablets.
    Delay washing is cool . Have it come on at night and press no spin and go to spin speeds . 1 that keeps things moving .cheap rates at night..and will hold the clothes in water so know mildew sets in with a damp load that spun and you can't get to it right away.
    Load this machine with towels with towels ,, shirts with shirts ,,jeans with jeans and or khaki pants . Also do stuff by weight. Light stuff with a heavy towel or hoody is asking for trouble. Synthetics like gym pants shirts again light with the delicates cycle works great. I have a polo style type shirts ..then a sock night ..towel day this keeps it simple not overwhelming . Use your features not just Normal. One type of detergent does not work with all textiles. There's Woolite Dark for your nice dark clothes you want to reduce fading cheer color guard is good MAS at walmart is good for darks . They have a neutralizer in the formula that cancelles out chlorine in the water .
    That can cause fading over time. I use that with the delicate cycle to reduce over agitation helps to keep color . Cold to cool wash temps and 1 /3 full for better cleaning as well as dress shirts .They need circulation for less wrinkling . Finally leave your lid open after washing again you want a dry basket inside the outer tub . Less bacteria and build up. Then the next day or hours later you can close the lid. That's a glass window keep it clean weekly also rain ex keeps it from fogging . Water build up can etch the glass over time and permanent water calcium or other anomalies can make your glass stain and set permanently.
    Spray polish around the top and inner porcelain and cabinet helps keep your machine from rusting especially where the dispensers are. And the tub ring pull towards you in sections wipe down or build up occurs . Washers don't wash itself. So matinance IS IMPORTANT FOR THE LONG RUN OF ANY WASHER.
    PEOPLE really don't respect or keep there machines in top shape. There so dirty because they think it's not important and throw clothes detergent and run. But being a appliance sales men and really like laundry machines.
    And the I know the tedious task of laundry ..well you can make it better for just those tips. And don't mega overwhelmed 2 weeks or pile up Laundry . It will where you out. And then the quality disappear and then your textiles suffer. OOOOH no lint givers or lint takers in the wash basket . Fuzz balls from towels mixed gym clothes makes balls and beady ugly worn out looking clothes . So shedding towels should not mix with other clothes. That' is true. Lol
    Hope this helps .☀️🌀☮️

      We just got an High Efficiency washer so I was researching because I know nothing. Lol But I remember reading the best rated detergents made for HE washers don’t suds up and that’s suppose to be a good thing I guess. In fact I think that some detergents can actually hold in the dirt if you either use too much or the wrong kind with HE machines. Then I found this too..
      “From a scientific perspective it is important to state, from the get go, that there is a difference between a "soap" and a "detergent."
      For soaps, the amount of suds DOES make a difference in its cleaning power.
      However, this is NOT the case for detergents.
      That being said, a long time ago when laundry detergents (versus laundry soaps) first came out marketers wanted to prove their products worked well. So they perpetuated the myth that suds were necessary for detergents, and showed they were working, just like is the case for soaps.
      That marketing ploy eventually turned into a commonly held belief amongst people that no suds = horrible detergent.
      I hope that helps…probably not though. I hope you find a solution. Good luck

      The machine weighs the laundry, and adds the amount needed for each load. Laundry detergent doesn’t make bubbles, soap does.

    I am looking for a new washer and is considering a LG Direct Drive High-Efficiency Smart Top-Loader similar to this one. My only concern is how much cloth can you load for this loader because from this video, the person put in very little cloth to wash. If this kind of washer can take only that much cloth each time, then it would take me or my wife the whole week end to wash considering the house hold of 2 adults and 2 teenagers.

I have tried every cycle, adding more water, cleaning the washer (which wastes a ton of hot water) but nothing removes the scummy lint streaks. Heavy duty cycle takes up to 2 hours. LG isn't paying my electric bill. This high effieciency nonsense uses more electricity and more water and clothes do not get clean.
