Definitely adopt, I know you want to surprise her, but i would suggest maybe giving her a card with a kitten/ cat picture saying during xmas we go to the local spca or selter and let her pick out one, after she holds them and decides which is hers.
A rescue is the best! I have 4 rescues and they are wonderful! If you get one from the shelter they are already fixed but please make it an indoor strictly. I would give her a gift certificate and take her and let the cat choose her!
Please please please ADOPT! There are so many cats, kittens in the Human society these days that need a forever home. They are so grateful to have a loving home which I know it would fit in so well with your family. Also, it must be an inside kitty for you to love and it’s SAFETY. I would never allow my kitties outside as there are too many bad things that can happen…ie…getting hit by a car. They need our protection!! Thanks and happy kitty hunting!!!
I second this... please adopt, I've adopted all my cats I've had in my lifetime and they are so loving and so special and you're giving one of them a chance to live. ♥
I believe in letting cats be animals and roam around outside. They’re so much happier and healthier, it’s just not natural to lock animals indoors for our own happiness
@katem6861 cats live longer being kept inside. I have 3, and they're totally happy. No worries about getting hit by cars, or fighting, and getting fel-v or fiv.
I used to go through the Sears catalog (yes, that long ago) and circle what I wanted. Pretty sure I never got anything from that list but I had so much fun fantasizing about the possibilities.
I have adopted a 1 year old that had been in the shelter since he was a kitten, he is the most laid back love-bug he’s big and cuddly and I love him so much, he’s an ordinary Tabby, but he was the cat for me. He’s also very well behaved, never caterwauls hardly ever meows. 😊
OMG, I have two older sisters and they made me a barbie house out of old wooden crates stacked together. They put carpet and wallpaper in it and bought some miniature furnishings from a hobbie shop. It was so thoughtful!
The best cat we’ve ever had was about 9 months old when we got her from the shelter. She simply melted into my shoulder as I held her…she picked me, I guess. My kids wanted a little kitten, but I convinced them that (a) the little ones almost always get adopted and (b) almost all of the little ones are playful and fun when they’re tiny, but their personalities could change as they mature-a sweet-natured 9-month old was probably going to stay sweet. [And, (c), I was already smitten…]. Anyway, over 10 years later, she’s still a fantastic fuzzy friend. Regarding outdoor/indoor: it was challenging to keep her 100% inside since she was outdoors in her pre-shelter life. Our compromise is that she can go outside if one of us humans is also outdoors, supervising her. She gets to roll around in the dirt and scratch her claws on real tree trunks and pounce on grasshoppers, but she doesn’t end up near the street or in conflicts with other animals. The vet is (mostly) okay with it as long as she is vaccinated and wears her tags too. I hope you find a terrific furry buddy for your daughter!
As long as you are ready for a huge financial and emotional commitment, pets are great ❤ too many people adopt them and take them back to the shelter after the novelty wears off. Sad for the animal. They need stability ❤❤ good luck and happy holidays
Please adopt from a shelter and keep inside because a lot can happen to an outside kitty or cat. Get a scratching post play house and you will love it. They love toys, there's one with a ball under a little drap and the ball goes round and round. And there are great kitty litters these days. Thanks for sharing the new Alter Ego palette, you always look beautiful ❤️🎄⛄🎀🎋❗🎨🖌️👁️💋
My complaint about the Hourglass pallets this year is the blushes are so similar once applied. If it is going to be $90 I want to get a better value for what I am paying. A perfect pallet would be a bronzer, a finishing powder, a highlighter, a pink blush, a peachy or coral blush and a berry/mauve blush that actually looks different once applied. Or if you didn't want a finishing powder, you could put two bronzers...one that is cooler for a contour and a warmer one for bronzer. Me personally, I would leave out the highlighter and add the two bronzers. That would be my preference, especially for traveling. But if we really wanted to step it up, you could choose what you put in there!! That would be even better lol.
Beautiful finished look. Try using the elf waxy brow pencil to outline your lips before you apply any lip products so they do not feather into vertical lines. Been using them for years for this purpose. I buy 4 at once so I always have one.
As a former Vet Tech and long time cat owner, I agree with this. Most of the time, it is the males that are more affectionate, females can be aloof. Having said that, I had a female for 20yrs that was my Soulmate, that I got from a shelter. I wanted a black cat because most people are superstitious of them and they often don't get adopted and are euthanized instead. The shelter lady said they had one cat "in the back" (meaning it was probably on the euthanasia list" and that the cat did NOT like women. I asked her to bring me the cat and leave me alone in a room with her. The lady brought her into me in a box and wished me luck. I let the cat out and I sat perfectly still and just let her walk around and sniff me occasionally. I never once tried to pet her or speak to her. She eventually crawled up onto my lap, gave my hand a tiny nibble and then a kiss. THEN, I knew she had chose me as her person. After I adopted her, I was given papers that included how she came to be at the shelter at 8 months old. Her 1st person was a male, who then got a girlfriend who was "allergic" (another term for doesn't like cats" to cats. So, he got rid of the cat. And, even though she's been gone for 3yrs now, I'll be forever grateful that she ended up with me. ❤ I always adopt. My male that I have now had been returned twice to the shelter for being "too noisy" and "too needy". Like, what??? So he purrs and snores extra loud and for long periods of time. And he loves me to play with his toys with him. Again, their loss. My gain.
Beautiful look, Mandy! I just received my Sundown palette and am so looking forward to trying it! About a year and a half ago, a stray kitten showed up at our place. We live in the country as my husband is a farmer. Anyway, we noticed the kitten hung around for a couple of days, so we started feeding him. He is the sweetest cat we've had in a while. All our other cats are barn cats and don't come to the house. I know my opinion on outdoor cats will be unpopular here, but since I am slightly allergic to them and my hubby isn't an indoor pet person, our cat and our dog are strictly outdoors. We have a house for each of them so they can be out of the weather when they want. Our cat is a great hunter, too, so I appreciate him catching the mice outside that could end up inside our house. Anyway, do what you feel is best for your family. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I am really impressed with the Alter Ego palettes I have, & at this point I have almost all of them. I also am equally impressed with their brushes, & have almost all of them too 😊 One of the sets mirrors the Angie Hot & Flashy set, & I can’t tell a difference when using them. They are very nice & worth it IMHO if you haven’t tried them yet. Love your videos, your makeup always looks gorgeous!
I got both of my kitties from the Humane Society They are the sweetest little boys ever and are about to be two years old. And wow! These colors are YOUR colors! This look is so beautiful. I have yet to try an alter ego palette. I might just have to now although I’m pretty obsessed with Natasha’s formula. 😎 I think the dream pallet is on sale right now actually. Hmmm When I was a little kid, I had the lady lovely locks castle. I loved it so much and I played with Barbies until I was 11 years old. Have a very merry Christmas. 🎄
I got the Dragon pallette and it is so beautiful on me. I'm 50 and the two powders are so flattering. The blushes are gorgeous. The bronzer is perfect on me. I almost never use highlighter, but I have started dusting the tip of my nose.
I adore your videos. Merry Christmas. Consider giving your daughter a “get a cat” gift card. She might want to choose her own. Cats are notorious about choosing their own people. If she connected with one at a rescue, or whereever, it would be so cool. It’s the cat distribution system
I got my daughter an American girl doll. She got extra outfits and furniture and the books. At age 38 she still has all the American girl stuff since a little girl and still cherishes it. She had 3 boys so no passing it on unless she gets a granddaughter one day.
I wanted a dream house so bad when I was a kid so I was excited when I bought my oldest daughter one for Christmas. She maybe played with it one time.😂
You look so beautiful! I loved watching your video - also - I have always adopted cats and they are wonderful! Please consider adopting 💕Thanks for all you share
Here in Canada we do not get that Amazon booklet and Canada Post workers has been on strike for amonth now, so no mail of any kind unless it is via a courier.
When you do adopt a cat. Never ever let them outside. There’s no need for it and it shortens their life. I’ve had several cats over the years and they’ve all lived to be old and senile. So many beautiful cats in the shelter.
Yes, our cats from animal welfare wanted to go outside, we let them out just for a short stint, and they'd be killed by a car 😢😢😢😢 it's terrible in the city. Our cat is inside now, no outside except for once a week brush (as he is a long hair and its everywhere at the moment, as his thick winter coat is dropping for summer here in Australia
I had to start keeping my Hourglass palette in my purse for busy days when I didn’t have time to do my makeup at home. I’ll put my face on in the car while my hubby drives. I’ve now got pan on two of the powders! I never thought I’d see the bottom of this stuff lol.
I own one ND palette and the shadows crease on me even with a primer on. They seem too creamy. One is impossible to use because it’s just a giant fallout. Colors are pretty.
Happy Holidays Mandy. Hope your family has a fun and joyous Christmas. About eyeshadow palette colors…I can’t make pink, orange, red, berry or gold eyeshadow shades work for me. Those colors make me look like I’m unwell, yet so many pallets include them. I also see very few influencers applying them to their own eyes when reviewing palettes yet so many brands include them. Maybe you could give us a tutorial about how to work them into an eye look.
I know you know this but let go of the $90 thought and just enjoy the Hourglass palette. Otherwise, you should gift it to someone who will be thrilled every time they look at it. Reminding yourself about the cost so often is taking away from ever appreciating it. I bought one for the first time and it was WAAAAYYYYY beyond my budget. I bought the Barney's elephant because I had wanted that one for two years. I can look at it and see how much money I could not afford to spend, or I can savor how pretty it looks when I open it AND how pretty I look when I use it. By doing the latter I'm going to get my $ back through the enjjoyment of it.
Hey Mandylea, Your look turned out so pretty, especially the eyes. You seem a touch down a lot of people are because economic times are tough. This too shall pass. In 6-7 months things will get better. Try to be frugal but don't go crazy. Please tell us if both eyeshadows were long wearing. Merry Christmas 🎄. God bless you and yours.
My daughter wanted the barbu dream house too and some of her friends had it but we resisted! I got her a doll house from Costco for $65 she barely played with it, so i think she wouldn’t have played with it
This ND palette always looked incredible on you. I remember you wore it nonstop for a while. I divided it up with an other palette and gave the colors to my daughter she'd prefer. I kept the duocrome. I was wondering how well Alter Ego duped the duocrome? Also is it your camera or do the berry shades look more purple than I remember the ND looking. Thanks! Beautiful palette, great job showing it off.
The only thing that draws me in with the Hourglass pallet is the packaging, which is beautiful. Otherwise, I already have bronzer and blushes which I prefer. So I have never caved and bought a pallet. I think one is all you need, if you need any.
Do you know anyone that is crafty enough/has time to convert a short set of shelves into a Barbie house? It might be a little too close now for Christmas but you could buy her some furniture pieces for now that could be included into the “house” for her birthday? Some wood dividers for walls, use some paint, wallpaper, carpet samples, etc. A stairway up the sides? There are so many ideas on Pinterest & TH-cam, you could continuously add to it & maybe even do some little projects with Charlie? Like little pots & pans out of pill bottle tops or lamps from beads. I don’t know how crafty you can be or how much time you have but it would be special time together.
All pets / cats should be kept in side ur home PERIOD!! Then 😢😢 they would not get run over , get Diseases , heart worm , flees , ate by a fox or killed Buy a cat hater they exist If you own a pet Please keep them inside
Yeah, but they found the cat. It just showed up on their porch. Who knows how long it had been living outside before then, so maybe it wouldn’t go into the house and stay there, which is why they made it an outside cat?
@ ?? Possibly ?? But as she stated she knows nothing about cats right ??!! So let’s be helpful here .. all pets must stay “Indoors “ !! If you save a cat don’t leave it outside
Honestly, I bought Nikki's brushes, better than Lisa's, but I broke down bought Wayne Goss's brushes (one at a time) and they are fabulous. Keep your cat's indoors just saying. Yes, I am an animal rescuer and what it boils down to will your now cat embrace the new one.
I see that you mixed two shades of Mabeline Skin Tint. If you could buy one shade to match your skin tone, which number would it be? I think your tones are similar to mine.
My daughter also begged us for a cat at about the same age as your daughter. She absolutely loved cats. Santa Clause did bring a kitten that we had adopted from a shelter. She was soooo happy and excited receiving a kitten on Christmas morning. It is truly a treasured memory. However, cats live a very long time. Like almost 20 years. My daughter was out of college moved away and had her own place while we were still taking care of this by then very elderly cat. Just know it will be a very long commitment. And today at 31 our daughter says she doesn’t really like cats and is a dog person. Go figure.
If you have a free cycle group near you there might find a Barbie house someone is decluttering. You can even post a WANT there and someone will contact you.
The Alter brand costs $45 in Australia, the ND palette costs $125. So its a no brainer for us to buy the copy. Occasionally i buy the original, just as a special treat for a birthday present, but for everyday use, id rather the cheaper product..i cant afford over $100 for a tiny bottle of highend foundation, when the Maybelline or Covergirl or other drugstore (we call them chemist) brand which gives great finish to the skin anyway...
I have to join in with the other commentators with suggesting you ADOPT. I'd also suggest NOT getting a kitten as they tend to be psycho - lol. Getting a young cat (about 6 months or so) would be the best suggestion. With the cat you really need to get a cat tree and some catnip spray to spray on it. Cats need something to scratch on and if you don't provide them something (ie: cat tree) then they will scratch on your furniture. Focusing your play and treat giving around the cat tree also helps. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
Take her with you animals pick there person sounds crazy but they really do my granddaughter was set she wanted a yellow cat they took her and a gray and white cat picked her she went by the cage she stood up in the cage and wrapped her paws around my granddaughter they took her home and Stormy likes no one except Addison. lol who knew.
It's wonderful that you're thinking about getting a cat. Pet advocates don't generally advise getting a pet for Christmas. Shelters seem to have problems with that. Maybe get one at another time?
My grandaughter bugged her parents for years for a cat, and her Dad is allergic to them so the anwser was always no. Then a few years ago, she finally convinced them (they also have a Jack Russell, and there was another dog that ran out the door one day, and they saw get hit by a truck, she died in my daughter's arms on their way to the vets; then there was a hamster and then gunea pigs, and an assortment of Beta fish). When I flew out for her grade 12 graduations, we went for spa treatment in the morning and then on our way over for lunch, we passed a pet store - guess what was in the window - there were two cats, so we had to in. She would have taken one home (they were not kittens) but we talked it out it and suggested she think about it and the fact that her two cats might not like an adult stranger show up in their home. Later that day, she said she would wait and get a kitten.
I say don't buy a barbie house, make one with her ... my daughter's had a few and they ended up just playing with the furniture and stuff , next to the house ....yes get that babygirl a cat ! My 7 year old grandson wants a cat as well ....
What we did for my niece for Christmas is we put the cat that we went to the humane society and adopted...please adopt trust me you'll get the most faithful and loving cat there we are a rescue family of dogs and cats) but we put a note with a bell around it's neck and put it in a box in a big red sack and the note said "Hi CaraBella, I found this poor cat on my travels delivering presents tonight and I was sad I couldn't find a kitten for you but I think this cat needs a loving home she is lost will you be her new home and take care of her for me? I'm afraid it's too cold at the North Pole. I'll be watching you both this next year Ho Ho Ho, Love Santa.". After they were opening presents I snuck the present around the front of the house (oh we always opened presents at midnight it was a tradition) and I shook some bells yelled hohoho and ran. They opened the door and tied to the bag was a note with Bella's name on it! She never felt more special or happy in her life! My uncle pretended to go to the store to get pet supplies but they were all in their trunk he went and got chocolate milk and mini marshmallows for everyone and a can of tuna for the new cat as a treat!💙💙
I'm a dog rescuer but I'm telling you rescue a cat there are so many of them out there that need good homes give her a Christmas card with a Certificate in it telling her she can redeem it for a cat and all of you is a family go down to the shelter and find one that will fit with you guys it will be the best day of Her Life
As a cat person I'd say get a young animal - not necessary a kitten but not older than a year - that way you can teach them how the household works, older cats are kind of set in their way. And children are not to good at accommodating cat habits, I think older cats are for people with a bit more experience. And second - keep them indoors. No one needs more heartbreak like the one you lived through - spayed/neutered cats do very well as indoor animal, if you want them to have some outside expediences I'll remind you that kitty walking leashes are a thing... You, or your daughter, just have to let the cat lead the excursion :) If you go for a breeder do check that they are responsible - kittens have to have their vaccinations done and never given away younger than 3, better 4 month (younger kittens are not well socialized and will often become prone to scratching and biting - it's their siblings that teach them to moderate), that's just the basic thing to look for. If you decide to take one from the shelter it might be a good idea to go there together with your daughter and see if she hits it off with a particular feline - it's the personal connection that counts :)
Don't give the cat on Christmas. Give her a "gift card " so she can go with you and your husband to a shelter and pick it out herself. Christmas is too hectic to introduce a pet. There's too much going on, and many pets get rehomed or abandoned because of a bad beginning .❤
Do not, I beg you, get an off brand Barbie anything…. The girls know… and they are super, well it’s a thing…. I have been able to get great deals for my granddaughter on amazon, and walmart, even target, but you really need to take some time and really dig in… even ebay has new in box deals…. As for cats, it is all about the personality. The pound is great but also hard, if it is an older cat you don’t know it’s story. You need to spend a wee bit of time with it to see it’s disposition. I don’t think breed really matters, siamese being the exception. They are amazing, but are royals and they know it. 😂
If you’re going to get a cat, I highly highly recommend an orange tabby. I’m not a cat person either, but years ago, when my daughter was your daughter’s age, I got her a kitty. I got an orange tabby from a friend’s cat who had kittens. This freaking cat is the easiest, most laid back cat I’ve ever seen. After getting it, and researching this breed, I learned they actually are a very easy going cat, that are good family pets. Make sure you get a male “fixed” or they spray all over the house 🤮.
I would say get a cat from the humane society because they are usually potty trained and you don't have to worry about shots or anything like that and they're all fixed
Please consider adoption from the pound unless you can handle kitten antics. Senior cats are loving and more understanding and super sweet. They know that they were saved
Take her to the animal shelter to pick out a cat! They say the cat will choose you, and I wholeheartedly agree!
Definitely adopt, I know you want to surprise her, but i would suggest maybe giving her a card with a kitten/ cat picture saying during xmas we go to the local spca or selter and let her pick out one, after she holds them and decides which is hers.

Agree Adopt!
The staff at a shelter should be able to help you with picking a friendly cat. They are usually aware of the personalities.
Adopted cats are so loving ❤
I used to go through the Sears catalog (yes, that long ago) and circle what I wanted. Pretty sure I never got anything from that list but I had so much fun fantasizing about the possibilities.
I LOVED the Sears Christmas Wish Book!! I think JC Penney’s had one too! ❤
Me too 💕
We adopted 3kittens and we all love them.
Wait until after Christmas to adopt a cat, and DO NOT let it be an outside cat.

You are the best eyeshadow artist- your technique is just so beautiful. I love how you do the outer edge/corner- perfection!
There are many kittens at shelters. 😁
Yep ❤ so cute looking for a home yo he raised and loved “ indoors “ so there safe
As long as you are ready for a huge financial and emotional commitment, pets are great ❤ too many people adopt them and take them back to the shelter after the novelty wears off. Sad for the animal. They need stability ❤❤ good luck and happy holidays
I got a pump off Amazon that fits Maybelline skin tint perfectly. Highly recommend. 😊
Please adopt from a shelter and keep inside because a lot can happen to an outside kitty or cat. Get a scratching post play house and you will love it. I buy pumps on Amazon for my foundations that have droppers.
Same here. The droppers get so messy it is usually the first thing I change out on them.

Boy cats tend to be the most affectionate and cuddly, but it varies, I've had super sweet girl kitties too.

Perfect dupe Mandy, beautiful makeup
We made our "dream houses" out of cardboard too! Mom had no $$$ but we thought it was because we had a lot of imagination. 😂
How sweet that you will get your sweet girl a cat. Let us know what happens.
Thanks for a year filled with great videos ❤❤❤❤

I love the Maybelline lifter liner for the lips... have you tried those yet?? And lokking beautiful as always❤❤😊😊

Here in Canada we do not get that Amazon booklet and Canada Post workers has been on strike for amonth now, so no mail of any kind unless it is via a courier.
My daughter did not play with Barbies so I did not buy one. however, I made one of of shoe boxes , when I was little, I wanted one so bad.
@@lynettefinnigan9540good for you! You are a responsible pet owner.
You’re in Utah; go to the DI to look for dreamhouse type stuff. My daughter just got a “dream closet” there for $2!!
The BK101 brush is phenomenal for applying foundation
Color wise, they look the same, but the ND side has more of a sparkle and extra something.
Children are only little and magical at Christmas time for a short time. Get the Barbie Dream House and a KITTEN.
My daughter wanted the barbu dream house too and some of her friends had it but we resisted! I got her a doll house from Costco for $65 she barely played with it, so i think she wouldn’t have played with it
Check with local vets. Many times they have rescue kitties.
Hi Mandy, can you share where your necklace came from?
There’s an Amazon booklet? Hmm. I wonder why I didn’t get one.
They have so many pallets I want
That's the foundation I am currently wearing 😂❤
All pets / cats should be kept in side ur home PERIOD!! Then 😢😢 they would not get run over , get Diseases , heart worm , flees , ate by a fox or killed Buy a cat hater they exist
If you own a pet
Please keep them inside
She mentioned 220 it was running low that’s only reason why she added another
@@joansmith6844 thanks. I missed that.
They have kittens at the pound.❤
My daughter also begged us for a cat at about the same age as your daughter. She absolutely loved cats. Santa Clause did bring a kitten that we had adopted from a shelter. She was soooo happy and excited receiving a kitten on Christmas morning. It is truly a treasured memory. However, cats live a very long time. Like almost 20 years. My daughter was out of college moved away and had her own place while we were still taking care of this by then very elderly cat. Just know it will be a very long commitment. And today at 31 our daughter says she doesn’t really like cats and is a dog person. Go figure.
dupes all the way
If you have a free cycle group near you there might find a Barbie house someone is decluttering.
Do you get a kitten???!?!? OF COURSE😍😍😍
You can also find kittens at the shelter.
Ive never heard of an Amazon book.
❤
I only have one Hourglass palette. I think of it as $15 a pan. Is each pan worth $15, I think so.
Cats pick us not vice versa
Hi Mandy
Surprise her by taking her to a shelter. Let her and a cat pick each other. You won't be sorry. I have 4 rescues. They're just the best!
Search doll house kits🎅🏼🤶🏻your daughter she can build her own house for a better price👍🏼👍🏼🤗
I'm a dog rescuer but I'm telling you rescue a cat there are so many of them out there that need good homes give her a Christmas card with a Certificate in it telling her she can redeem it for a cat and all of you is a family go down to the shelter and find one that will fit with you guys it will be the best day of Her Life
Please don’t let the cat out.
Go through the Human Society. They’re even in PetSmart.
You, or your daughter, just have to let the cat lead the excursion :)
If you go for a breeder do check that they are responsible - kittens have to have their vaccinations done and never given away younger than 3, better 4 month (younger kittens are not well socialized and will often become prone to scratching and biting - it's their siblings that teach them to moderate), that's just the basic thing to look for.
oh god. did you just say 'ki-en?' nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
