That’s my favorite part of generational family farms. Hearing the stories from the older gen, BUT the only interview we’ll get from Merlin would have to be more like an interrogation & hidden cameras.I wonder if he hides from all the security cams too.

Have used grease in hub bearings for years, millions of miles, no problems always remember to leave end float. Less problems with oil leaking past seals.

We lightly pack all oil bath bearing with water resistant synthetic grease and use synthetic grease. Amsoil no failures. Reduced operating temperatures.

Hey Chet if your looking for a nice tractor to pull that sprayer try a 8330 Fastrac they are super smooth ride with a CTV transmission that’s what we are using. Would send you a pic but don’t know how on this platform

Chet i was taught use a grease dam1/4 way up then fill 90 / 140 oil that way it fully lubed on start up especially on the floating rear axle, good luck. And a small wipe of grease on the bearings lot of pressure on loaded truck.
