Hey just found your channel. Great content! I'm a Rossi lever action fan too.

Hey KRT- I like the big bore AR's and I like to use a good brake and a Armaspec big bore buffer. The Armaspec Big bore buffer is very much like a shock absorber, and it is one of the best buffer systems for the money. I liked your video, in the future could you also include your load data and let us know what kind of sight/scope rings set up you are using. I like the Burris PEPR rings for big bore stuff and use low power 1x4, 2x7, 3x9 scopes by Vortex and Leupold. Vortex has the straight wall 3x9 scope which is functional and Leupold has the pig plex and Freedom 450BM scopes which work well for short range work. I like to cast my own bullets in the 300g to 325g range and they work well for 18 cents ea. and I mostly use SBR Socom power, tho I has loaded some with AR Plus. I also write my own reloading manuals for ea caliber, I find all data available and sort by bullet weight. With the 458 Socom I have had to extrapolate some data to keep the lead at 1450 to 1600 fps. You might consider trying some reloading videos for the big bores in the future. Good luck with all your endeavors, hope to see more videos from you soon!

@@jonnelsen6569 a couple of notes…. I’ll discuss load data in the comments for videos where I’m testing/developing loads, when I have time but TH-cam will often flag my videos if I’m giving specific load data. Often I’ll show it in a picture during the slideshow at the end of my videos that will have some of the load data.
I also have videos casting and powder coating 500gr bullets for this caliber, but once again TH-cam flags those videos. I actually got a strike and warning a few months back for posting a video casting for my 10mm and warnings for videos showing weighing out powder charges, dumping it in the case, then seating bullets.
I run the Arma-spec in several calibers but honestly the Pauldron RRS is the best big bore recoil reducer I’ve used. Unlike the arma-spec that loading up a spring then dumping that energy back into the bolt closing, the Pauldron uses a set of ring springs and dissipates the kinetic energy as heat.
I try to keep my videos in the 10-20 minute range. I could add details all day about every aspect of a particular caliber but not many people would hang around to watch it all.
All the extra data is available, just post any questions up in the comments. 😉

Are you trying to minimize felt recoil or muzzle jump? I have two SOCOM's, one is a Savage bolt with a 16" McGowen 1-14 twist heavy varmint barrel with a McGowen Turbo Brake in the plastic factory stock. I added a thick steel spacer between the recoil pad and the stock to add length and some weight. It weighs a little less than ten pounds without a scope shooting it has the felt recoil of say a light 12 gauge shotgun with some stout game loads. The turbo brake keeps it from jumping the push is straight back accuracy is excellent I use 300 WSM altered magazines and also built a higher capacity magazine that I haven't quite perfected I think Schnyder makes one similar. I shoot mostly 300 grain Barnes and some Remington Hollow Points the Barnes are what I have shot pigs with. The other one is a BCA upper with some Tromix parts it has the BCA flash hider on it which doesn't do anything as far as recoil or jump. Standard buffer and spring I have it on a Ruger lower use GI mags with Tromix followers. Did the scallop on the mag well and took the edges off of the feed lips brass ejects nicely and not scratched up. The BCA bolt was chewing my brass up pretty bad so I went with some Tromix parts in hindsight I wish I had just bought a complete Tromix upper and was done with it. I have been looking at a tank style brake for it just haven't gotten one I did get the one off of the BCA finally it was hell for tight. The only thing I have had happen to the Savage is after shooting 20+ rounds it pays to check the action screws I have had them loosen I blame that on the flimsy stock. I did have the turbo brake loosen also. Someday I might invest in a better stock that will accept the three round style magazines or something that will hold the 458 rounds.

Both. This gun was pretty soft shooting before I installed the SICO ASR brake. It really didn’t do much.

      😂😂. That it has!
You should see my shoulder after 50 rnds with a bad break and not much reduction if the buffers. 😂😂 It’s nice shade of golden yellow at this point. 😉
