I know exactly the troll your talking about in this video. I felt compelled to reply to his rudeness just earlier. Even down to the exact way he worded the things he said, he reminds me of someone I know who is actually a self admitted narcissist. Hes super negative, and kind of a know-it-all. He ADMITS in taking joy in bringing people down and being toxic. He likes the negative reactions he gets because he feels like hes winning. He also tries to place guilt on people for doing things that HE is actually doing. I cant think of anything to identify it as other than evil somehow supplanted or inherent in his personality. It definitely seems like some kinda emotional malfunction to me. I just wanted to let you know your not alone in finding it disgusting. It made me visualize things I wish I hadn't, when he said such safety equipment is useless to civilians.

I was, I am and I am always gonna be a sheepdog. I met a lot wolves or I used to think they are wolves. They was more sheeps wrapped in wolf's skin. And also I met a lot of sheeps however some of them was wolves in sheeps skin. This world, society, our so called leaders - whatever, is so messed up... I wonder how many of these trolls would - if they worked long hours every day, had a young family to raise, had books to write, and had around half a million online subscribers - would welcome 3 strangers into their home on one of these working days, and spend several hours with them, serving them coffee etc.? That's what Bjørn did for me and two other new friends this week. What you see on screen is what he is in real life; a more kind, more decent, more humble man you will not find anywhere. Who knows, maybe the trolls will figure that out one day. If they spent more time in nature, their human decency might even come to the fore more often.

yeah but in Norway at least people get vaccinated. Here in Austria, only 60% got the vaxx, so another lockdown is pending since hospitals are getting fuller again. Someone actually transferred the virus to me 20 days ago. (I was not vaccinated at that time, I am now.) I felt awful for 10 days, my lungs.... and I am usually very healthy (never sick, and I go to the gym) and young (27). I still don't have my smell back, nor 100% of my energy. I live with my parents (both 60+) who already got vaccinated in May, and they didn't contract the virus although we share the same rooms 24/7 and eat together. This shows that the vaccine helps.

Social media is poisonous and TH-cam is no different with its multitude of enforcers who have been suitably indoctrinated. I mentioned two medicines by name that BTW have been used extensively worldwide to great effect. I was banned for one week with a threat of total banning if I did it again.
Somehow we have become an "entitled" society and that only our personal "feelings" matter. I stopped watching TV many months ago, I found out by doing so I eliminated tons of negativity. I walk around in a very unfortunately "cruel" world smiling, showing kindness and compassion. It cost me nothing, but one smile, one kind word at a time, we may make a difference in just 1 person. I pray daily for us all.

Well said Bjorn, great insight. I've found myself trolling on a couple occasions, which is totally against what I believe and who I thought I was as a person. I feel totally ashamed, and never once thought about the person I was trolling. Like I said, trolling goes against everything I believe and I won't be doing it anymore. Not using it as an excuse, but like most people right now I have been filled with pure rage and anger. But I can't use that as an excuse. Cheers Bjorn and keep up the great work.
imo, and I know this could totally go the wrong way, but there needs to be an internet regulation. Anomity brings out the ugly sides in all of us. We need to be able to have certified accounts talk with us. Otherwise a 60yrs old might get trolled by a 10yrs old which is very inappropiate imo, no matter if it's "just for fun".

On the other hand I think that this situation has helped magnify what people are really thinking, what they really believe, what they are really made of. This is a character defining moment, a hinge point. Who’s side are we really on? There are only two. God or the devil?

The bullying is happening here in Michigan in everyday life. Just going to the store you are bullied by other shoppers. People have become quite agressive.

Great message!!! I have a similar talk with my two sons every once in a while about how we talk to people in real life and online....don't be the bully or keyboard warrior. The people on the other end of the line in the social media and online gaming world are real people with real feelings and real day to day issues. We don't have to agree with everyone and I know I certainly don't, but show respect. If the day comes when that changes altogether, so be it, but t in tbe meantime, be nice 😀

People are so powerless in their real lives, and the world is so out of control, that cyber bullying has become a way to feel powerful and exert a level of control over their daily lives. Like they can put somebody down and feel powerful and in control because there are little to no consequences.
Great message. I have thought a lot about how many people are frustrated with themselves and so they project their frustrations and faults at others. I've had a lot of that coming against me, and I know why, but there's a lot of it. Those people should be avoided with distance, they don't wish you well, they are there to drag you down, and they will just bring you negative energy. Finding positively minded people who do not project their issues on others, has to be done consciously.
There are various reasons for trolling, including that some volunteer as 'advocates' for entities which wish to try to influence society. Others may simply get great pleasure from attempting to knock others down to their level, so they don't feel as insignificant. I knew of a fairly young guy that went around social media, 'stirring' (big time!) just for the drama ... up until he was diagnosed with a fatal disease. Ultimately, I believe karma is a biotch, but in the meantime we are living in very strange times indeed.
Hey Bjorn, your grounded attitude is a good balance to some of the nonsense we see. Remember that many of the trolls are not real people. Some are paid to be trolls, and others are specialized computer programs called "bots". I don't know why such things exist, but they do.

That is the core of most bullying, compensation or rather negative feeding, though there seems to be different modes. In my experience, as I rode the web surfing waves over most of my life too, in person bullying has the stem of physical and that loud voiced style mentioned. Trolling as it stands is more of the degenerated blend of sharp wit contests (one counter bully method?) and that verbal assault used for provocation - for physical response or social-mental stress. Since bullying and it's subtype trolling have a purely social drive. It's stepping on others for social ladder climbing or so it's, taken as. Corporate/ work based 'lording' is just that with it's perceived teeth. And so trolling is what the bullied who become bullies uses with the purely social-mental outlet. 'Better' trolls have more wit about it, mostly it is what it is. So I agree, and note the depth of perceived social drive it's tied to as a cultural, social construct of sorts. It can manifest variously by culture but it's part of that overarching social beam. I can also say it wasn't *so* prevalent among RPers who'd fight it out, because you relayer that social to combative aspect back into it. The old ball busting came to mind listening to Bjorn but I'm not quite sure how busting chops translates across cultures. It's my lone curiosity with every observation I noted. Misery loves company is the short sum of it, the internet is subtly diverse is all. Conversing with various foreign folk sheds some light into where and how things stray.

I wonder how many of these trolls would - if they worked long hours every day, had a young family to raise, had books to write, and had around half a million online subscribers - would welcome 3 strangers into their home on one of these working days, and spend several hours with them, serving them coffee etc.? That's what Bjørn did for me and two other new friends this week. What you see on screen is what he is in real life; a more kind, more decent, more humble man you will not find anywhere. Who knows, maybe the trolls will figure that out one day. If they spent more time in nature, their human decency might even come to the fore more often.

yeah but in Norway at least people get vaccinated. Here in Austria, only 60% got the vaxx, so another lockdown is pending since hospitals are getting fuller again. Someone actually transferred the virus to me 20 days ago. (I was not vaccinated at that time, I am now.) I felt awful for 10 days, my lungs.... and I am usually very healthy (never sick, and I go to the gym) and young (27). I still don't have my smell back, nor 100% of my energy. I live with my parents (both 60+) who already got vaccinated in May, and they didn't contract the virus although we share the same rooms 24/7 and eat together. This shows that the vaccine helps.

Somehow we have become an "entitled" society and that only our personal "feelings" matter. I stopped watching TV many months ago, I found out by doing so I eliminated tons of negativity. I walk around in a very unfortunately "cruel" world smiling, showing kindness and compassion. It cost me nothing, but one smile, one kind word at a time, we may make a difference in just 1 person. Well said Bjorn, great insight. I've found myself trolling on a couple occasions, which is totally against what I believe and who I thought I was as a person. I feel totally ashamed, and never once thought about the person I was trolling. Like I said, trolling goes against everything I believe and I won't be doing it anymore. Not using it as an excuse, but like most people right now I have been filled with pure rage and anger. But I can't use that as an excuse. Cheers Bjorn and keep up the great work.
imo, and I know this could totally go the wrong way, but there needs to be an internet regulation. Anomity brings out the ugly sides in all of us. We need to be able to have certified accounts talk with us. Otherwise a 60yrs old might get trolled by a 10yrs old which is very inappropiate imo, no matter if it's "just for fun".

I’m a ten foot tall stack of muscle and hate behind the keyboard, but I still find room under the bridge because I can fold up like a card table. Great message!!! I have a similar talk with my two sons every once in a while about how we talk to people in real life and online....don't be the bully or keyboard warrior. The people on the other end of the line in the social media and online gaming world are real people with real feelings and real day to day issues. We don't have to agree with everyone and I know I certainly don't, but show respect. If the day comes when that changes altogether, so be it, but t in tbe meantime, be nice 😀

People are so powerless in their real lives, and the world is so out of control, that cyber bullying has become a way to feel powerful and exert a level of control over their daily lives. Like they can put somebody down and feel powerful and in control because there are little to no consequences.
Great message. I have thought a lot about how many people are frustrated with themselves and so they project their frustrations and faults at others. I've had a lot of that coming against me, and I know why, but there's a lot of it. Those people should be avoided with distance, they don't wish you well, they are there to drag you down, and they will just bring you negative energy. Finding positively minded people who do not project their issues on others, has to be done consciously.

There are various reasons for trolling, including that some volunteer as 'advocates' for entities which wish to try to influence society. Others may simply get great pleasure from attempting to knock others down to their level, so they don't feel as insignificant. I knew of a fairly young guy that went around social media, 'stirring' (big time!) just for the drama ... up until he was diagnosed with a fatal disease. Ultimately, I believe karma is a biotch, but in the meantime we are living in very strange times indeed.

Hey Bjorn, your grounded attitude is a good balance to some of the nonsense we see. Remember that many of the trolls are not real people. Some are paid to be trolls, and others are specialized computer programs called "bots". I don't know why such things exist, but they do.
Our entire society is founded on bullying really, we are compelled to fall into line and adopt the common threads - if we disagree we are browbeaten, the current climate has brought out the sharp distinctions between the conformists and the individuals

Seems like a lot more folks are projecting their "can't" onto others. Can't imagine doing something themselves, so no one else can in their mind.

That is the core of most bullying, compensation or rather negative feeding, though there seems to be different modes.
In my experience, as I rode the web surfing waves over most of my life too, in person bullying has the stem of physical and that loud voiced style mentioned. Trolling as it stands is more of the degenerated blend of sharp wit contests (one counter bully method?) and that verbal assault used for provocation - for physical response or social-mental stress.
Since bullying and it's subtype trolling have a purely social drive. It's stepping on others for social ladder climbing or so it's, taken as. Corporate/ work based 'lording' is just that with it's perceived teeth.
And so trolling is what the bullied who become bullies uses with the purely social-mental outlet. 'Better' trolls have more wit about it, mostly it is what it is.
So I agree, and note the depth of perceived social drive it's tied to as a cultural, social construct of sorts. It can manifest variously by culture but it's part of that overarching social beam.
I can also say it wasn't *so* prevalent among RPers who'd fight it out, because you relayer that social to combative aspect back into it.
The old ball busting came to mind listening to Bjorn but I'm not quite sure how busting chops translates across cultures. It's my lone curiosity with every observation I noted.
Misery loves company is the short sum of it, the internet is subtly diverse is all. Conversing with various foreign folk sheds some light into where and how things stray.

Bjorn, Great video! The sounds of trolls are only present in the wind. This too is passing. Remember the old Viking words of wisdom "Wit is needful to him who travels far" - The Vikings used to eat trolls for breakfast!
