Maybe this was unintentional, but I find it very significant that ‘Disposable Girl’ is the first one in the series. In the context of the series, she’s not “disposable’ at all-actually, it’s the exact opposite. It provides the groundwork for which all the other songs come from. Although she feels useless, she is the first one to be heard, the first one to be seen, the first one to be sympathized with. I find some comfort in that. It makes me think that not all hope is lost-not just for Disposable Girl, but for all the characters.

since tptm has come to an end i wanted to take a moment to come back here and comment on smth i noticed a while ago. at around 2:54 you can faintly hear a sample from the ending of breaking things into pieces by kikuo, and i think it has a symbolism of jordyn being broken down by other people, and believing she is a broken person. but a main theme of breaking things into pieces is the protagonist not only breaking things, but repairing them. and while the protagonist of breaking things is unable to repair themself, jordyn ends up repaired despite the initial break. its a very poetic ending
the guitar part being sampled in the beginning, and throughout the song is Patricia, by The Pillows.

god this song is so fucking real...im fat and have been my whole life and ive never once felt desirable, let alone pretty. i was the person who got asked out as a joke, and was told many times i was ugly and overall unattractive. it truly did make me feel like i was just disposable, that i could never be pretty, never attractive to anyone else. everyone at school got valentines even after it stopped being a requirement to get everyone a valentine, but i didn't. once elementary school ended, i never got any valentines or candy grams or anything like that, and to conventionally attractive people or even just to skinny people it seems like nothing, like i'm just being sensitive, but after years and years of my unattractiveness being hammered into my psyche its kind of hard to fucking ignore. the worst part is that i know if i WASN'T fat I'd be considered pretty, or at least cute, but because of a condition it's difficult for me to lose any significant weight, and I'm also just fucking depressed. anyways sorry for traumadumping this song just rly resonates with me.

This song hits harder when you’re fat. Just had the worst emotional breakdown about my physical appearance and I really needed this.
Y'know, I find her design a bit tragic in a way. She seems to, as a way of wording it, meet the societal image of beauty (thin, light skinned, blonde, etc). I obviously don't agree with this, and beauty standards are fucking stupid, but you see what I mean. And yet, even despite that, she's outed. Mistreated. It goes to show that even if you seem "pretty" like that, there will always be a way to tear you down, as life is cold.
That may be nothing, this was just something random I thought up. That's some damn good writing either way, though. Thank you Weevil!
Still my favorite song of the series so far mostly bc i project heavily onto it. I have a good group of friends that i know care about me. But outside of them i feel so undesirable in public, esp since i have trouble making myself look presentable. this might be a stretch, but the background track kind of reminds me of/sounds like rushing cars/vehicles like a busy highway… and the person in the video is walking around a parking lot, which might also be a reference. not trying to dumb down the girls to just their worst moments, i think it’s interesting to possibly look at it from the perspective of, we only get this sliver of information about them and who they are at the moment before they’re admitted.. for jordan, the rushing metallic grungy sounds both describe her surroundings and their mindset which is so cool. also in the strobe light music video, there’s a train for many parts of it…

I don't know what, but _something_ about this song and music video feels *so fucking nostalgic.* I can't pinpoint it, but every part of this feels like something I've seen before, when I was really young. The rainbow background? The uncanny human-ish vocals? The muted unusual-ish instrumental? The school-grader font choices? The almost clipart esque art?
