I think what's so great about this episode is that Rupaul and John Waters speak to each other as equals, unlike the other ones where the interviewee is in awe of Rupaul. It's a real conversation.
I completely mirrored Ru's laugh at the end when John said "Ike beats Tina to death." That. Was. Magical.

I used to manage a local music store here in Baltimore, and John Waters was a regular customer of ours. Such a down to earth, charming man. He absolutely detests when people make a fuss over him...but the more "unique" you were, the more likely you were to serve him.

@@ollietaro From the time you're born they stick a label on you and expect you to conform to it and it's just a lot of bullshit. Nationality, religion, skin color, gender, sexual orientation. The hoax is it doesn't matter because we all end up dead in the ground in the end. So, you can go around worrying about a lot of useless labels, or you can live your life and read and think and have ideas and be yourself -- and, most importantly, have some fucking fun.

I met John at a roof party in china town , NYC. He was hilarious. I was so star stucked. I couldnt even say I'm a fan. I was too scared to geek out 🤣

I did not appreciate how talented Divine was until he died and I saw the gaping hole in John Water's films.

MAJOR3058 The reason why I said that is that it seems that Waters films just seem to get better and better starting with Pink Flamingos all the way up to Hairspray but then all of a sudden his films weren't anywhere near as good. The obvious change was the death of Divine. Yes, it could be said that neither Divine or Waters could have done it without the other. I guess in the end I agree with you.

Would love for John to make one more movie. Not sure if he's retired, but his mind is still sharp as a tack. I'd love to see John's 21st century versions of his outcast weirdo nobody cast would be. He lucked out with Mink Stole, Divine, and Edith Massey. No one could replicate that feeling of shock in today's PC culture but I'd sure love to see him try lol. Just him rambling on for hours would be good enough for me lol
