This may have been first displayed at the beginning of lap 47, (but that would allow only 25 seconds to assemble the sign) so it may have been 120 seconds (the beginning of lap 48) after Villeneuve's mistake. During lap 49 Gilles disobeyed the SLOW sign and overtook his team mate. So, it was Gilles who threw the rule book to the wind. And a race between team mates ensued, much to the delight of the ultimate boss, Enzo. Ask yourself why, from all the drivers vying to race for Ferrari, Il Commendatore chose Pironi. always felt bad for Pironi, he definitely was living with a lot of guilt based on what was said at the end. as well as the Paletti accident must have been a difficult year for him. They were good friends I imagine had Gilles lived longer they might have resolved things but fate said otherwise
