1) Have a convincing story: connect the dots between your interests, studies and ambition
2) Highlight the transferrable skills: roles that seem different require similar skillsets and these include teamwork, communication and problem solving skills
3) Tailor cover letter: highlight your transferrable skills and how they relate to the role that you're applying to
4) Gain work experience: you need to work experience because it demonstrates your commitment to the industry and the skills you accumulated
