  • @florme6494

Palmer can’t start, his strength of the bench is key.
Understand how Southgate plays. The most important is having a big intimidating midfield. Foden playing through the middle is not that. Foden doesn’t suit it in the England squad with their tactics. I personally would have Gallagher as a 6. Rice as a 8 having more freedom. Bellingham as a 10.
It’s not what England fans and players want, but what the system needs.
    Walker Stones Guehi Shaw/Tripper
    Gallagher Rice
    Saka Bellingham Foden
    Kane
The key is using Gallagher the right way as we saw when playing next to Trent.
Trent, Palmer, Eze etc off the bench is key. Be solid for the first 60.

@user-ct1cj6hs8d Trent virtually played as a midfielder in the past 1.5 seasons. He was an inverted RB, meaning he was a CM on the ball and a RB off the ball. He can clearly play in midfield. These guys have no idea, and are going off the same stupid cliche that he can't defend. Did they even see Liverpool's 3-0 win vs Man City when he was 19 years old in the CL quarters and he had Sane in his pocket the whole game? He has defended well in most games, but because Liverpool play a high line and a high-risk game, sometimes defenders do get exposed. That doesn't mean he can't defend. It's clueless agenda-based nonsense.

    Nobody considered this.. Kane
    Bellingham Foden
    Gordon Rice Mainoo Saka
    Shaw Stones Walker
    Pickford
I call it 'The Umbro' ... Lol. Your wingers (and whole midfield really) have to work hard but, your central 'box' behind Kane is top class and can control the centre of the pitch with Stones sweeping behind them also. This team can control central areas but also threaten from wide areas and still have 2 players sitting in front of the defence protecting it when necessary. You can bring in Trent to replace any of Walker, Saka or Mainoo depending on your needs. You can also play Saka as a left wing back in this formation and play Bowen on the right if you need to. Bellingham and Foden can also play slightly wider and in behind with the wingers when Kane drops deep allowing one of Mainoo or Rice to support the attack. Everyone says the defence is the weakness.. so why not play one less with 3 or 4 players in front of 3 defenders instead of 1 or 2 players in front of 4 defenders?

    "Trent can't play double 6" 💀
Also Trent playing as inverted RB when having the possession of the ball = is a 6 ... the only difference here is inverted RB you let the CB and RB exposed a lot... and is very, very risky...
I don't get why play as permanent 6 is a problem? Was this ever a problem for Pirlo ? Oh ok modern days, Jorginho? I just don't understand the word "disbalance" why can't they play 433 - with Rice as 6, Jude and trent as 8 one being 10 at a time... this would be much more creative, confusing the opponent who goes forward, more space created...
I mean, that's the way liverpool set the team... szoboszlai is not a great man marking, Mac Allister is, but one play LCM and the other RCM, the right side is more vulnerable, but I guess every team has to have weakness... the problem is they run out of time overthinking the best way to play, the way that won't have weaknesses, trent can't do this, Saka can't do this...
And all the pre-matches are gone now, didn't play the XI together enough... when WC winners like Argentina playing the same XI since last year...
How do you want trent to succeed if he barely plays with Jude longside him in midfield...
That's why you get punished by well trained teams like Iceland...

Bellingham is the closest player England have in terms of matching the Busquets skill set. He has played number 6 for Dortmund at times and also in youth football. Even if you don’t consider him a number 6, he has to be the one because no other players can do the Busquets job as good as he would. Foden, Palmer and Maddison can’t quite do that.
