    I thought the first plane was just a terrible accident. When the second plane hit, I knew it was deliberate, we were under attack. Then the Pentagon, and I was convinced we were at war. The sickening, helpless feeling that ran through my body I’ll never forget. America lost its innocence and naïveté that day.

      I get what you mean, but don’t be ridiculous. The US was never “innocent”. What happened is absolutely awful, but you have a huge ego. That’s part of the problem.

    That morning I brought a flag in to work, in Silicon valley, and hung it on the outside of my cubicle. Later in the day I found it folded up and placed on my chair with a note from the women in HR saying that the flag was inappropriate.

      Oh my goodness. Where I was everyone was flying their flag. Stickers on almost every car. They were out at local stores.
      It’s something I always remember about the days after, although it faded somewhat qyicuiu.

      Wow, how horrible. I remember back then, everyone prayed. The word "pray" was on every restaurant and church sign. Now we can't even mention God or prayer w/o a lawsuit or a demonstration.
