I have a P.O.D tale to tell... bear in mind I go back a long long long long long long way with metal so NU metal was pretty much lost on me but it was everywhere in the late 90s and early 2000s.. including some of the early Ozzfests I attended. Where I had the..... I'm going to use the word pleasure in an ironic fashion here.... seeing such luminaries as Tommy Lee's solo band (yawn), Disturbed (double yawn), and a bunch of other stuff that just I was not 15 years old enough to really be into.... however, refreshingly P.O.D got on stage were professional as hell, didn't waste time with a bunch of mushmouth vulgarity in place of actually communicating, they're vibe was very positive, their whole outlook was just refreshing in this lineup of second-rate sleepy time drop Z bullshitNow bear in mind I came up on metal thrash death metal et cetera so it's not like I needed them to sound like Creed or something to make me happy.... not the case at all. They were just really a standout refreshingly interesting band amongst a lot of other tedious crap that I was sitting through until I could c Ko r n, who while being very much the kings of new metal were incredibly tight and badass and undeniably flipping great.... and of course the mighty Black Sabbath which is what it was all about for me. Anyway, I don't know why pod made such a positive impression but I'm guessing it was cuz everything else was so lame. This is mainstage I'm talking about, On the side stages I caught Meshuggah early on and Cradle of Filth both of which were outstanding.

I get that it’s not for everybody. Some people just like reactors to immediately play the song, and it’s ok if that’s what you like. But they’ve been doing their channel this way for over 4 years, and I don’t think they’re going to change now to try to appease everybody who complains. An easy way to bypass the talking is to fast forward until you see their video screen pop up. Or maybe this isn’t the channel for you, which is ok too 😊
