I love that you love David Bowie. 💛 Everything you said about him and what he means to you resonates with me. This track is so fun with a simple, killer riff and lyrics that make you smile 😀 as you did! Both songs are from my favourite album by him, Hunky Dory (1971). It is indeed a masterpiece!
Love seeing your Bowie reactions, it reminds me of how incredible it felt to hear these songs for the first time. Would love to see your take on "Look Back in Anger", another one from the Lodger album. If possible, look for the 2017 Tony Visconti remix, as that is definitely the best version of the song, in particular for how well it showcases Dennis Davis on drums/percussion. Dennis Davis played on 6 of Bowie's studio albums and a bunch of live ones too in the 70s. Davis' percussion work on “Look Back in Anger” is incredible, but on the original 1979 version it’s mostly buried in the mix. Bowie and Tony Visconti (who produced the Lodger album and many other Bowie albums) were never fully satisfied with the original mix of Lodger, and they had been discussing the idea of remixing it as early for years. Tony Visconti worked on remixes between 2015-2017, with Bowie’s blessing. The new version is a huge improvement, and you can hear much more easily just how incredible the drumming and percussion is. Bowie himself heard several of the remixed songs before he died in 2016 and was pleased with them. There's also a super video of on YT of Tony Visconti talking to Dennis Davis' son about Davis' contributions on "Look Back in Anger". (Look for "David Bowie - Look Back in Anger - Dennis Davis Isolated Drums Breakdown by Tony Visconti” for an awesome breakdown of Davis' drum tracks on the song.) TLDR: Look Back in Anger, the 2017 Tony Visconti remix!
Happy Birthday David Bowie, and thank you for 🎉our January birthday wishes Pope. I always loved this tune, so cinematic and cute, the yearning and fleetingness of it. ❤.
This is one of my favorite Bowie lyrics..."she's so swishy in her satin and tat, In her frock coat and bippity boppity hat..." HAPPY BIRTHDAY STARMAN! Also for his birthday you should check out Jean Genie video with Cyrinde Fox who later married Steven Tyler...too cool.
As always I love seeing you react to Bowie. He's been the most important artist to me for most of my life and it's wonderful to see your journey ❤ Too bad about Changes, but there are other reactions to it that didn't get taken down, so maybe try again? As for your next Bowie reaction I think maybe you need to hear the full album of Station to Station. Another great full album to do would be Diamond Dogs. I think you may have heard most of the songs from that, but the way that album is put together with each song flowing into each other is thrilling.
My favourite album of them all, Hunky Dory. At this stage of your journey with Bowie I would really love you to react to 'where are we now'? It's heartbreakingly uplifting if that makes sense. I requested it a good year or more ago so said I'd try again. I know you are inundated with requests though. I enjoy all your Bowie reactions. Thanks Pope!!!
Try cuts from Bowie's Young Americans album with Luther Vandross back-up singers and David Sanborn on saxophone, like Somebody Up There Likes Me, Win, Fascination, Right and Can You Hear Me. Also Carlos Alomar funk on Secret Life of Arabia (Heroes album). His Let’s Dance album produced by Chic’s Nile Rogers (and it’s all good!). From Station to Station album: Stay. Also Black Tie, White Noise with Al B. Sure.…Tonight with Tina Turner... A friend of the the Black community - complained to MTV about Black videos being relegated to early morning. Married to Somali super-model Iman.
When this album was written Bowie was heavily influenced by the Andy Warhol crowd, heavily into art as performance and drag performance and underground art. He hung with the glam, drag queen crowd....this song is about hanging in a seedy hotel room and watching your man either hitting on or getting hit on by the local "Queen". It's so fab!
Maybe you would like to check out this. It's an advice to other artists, he said in an interview. It's really lifechanging. Go on with your reactions, I like them very much.
It's about the drag queens he met in New York in the early seventies. Brilliant song. Great reaction x More Bowie xx
Even Bowie’s last album was a masterpiece.

I’m glad you can see Bowie for the genius that he was. Many are blind to his brilliance.
He was an original !
Happy Belated birthday, Bowie. Miss u and play your music all the time. Thanks Pope ❤
That was way back in the day and he wrote this about Lou Reed. At David's 50th birthday celebration you can see the two of them sing it together.
Rock and roll at it's finest! Can't put it in a genre other than......

One of the best openings ever
For any other artist yes, but his next opening was “five years” which is another level
Let alone Station to Station @@ballap23
It's all about drag - awesome!!!
Fabulous reaction fella ,youve become unmissable .👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
I never tire of people discovering Bowie. As I watch this, it’s the anniversary of his death ❤
GREAT , check out John I'm Only Dancing , seems to get overlooked

Totally agree- David Bowie is a legend! Have you listen to his album Pinups? I love it- he does some cover songs in it, too.

Listen to “Stay” from Station To Station and “Right” from Young Americans- the backing too was phenomenal.
Two of my favourite tracks
Moonage Day Dream and Cracked Actor are 2 classics by Bowie.
Tubular guitar tone for days!

Yeah, wild times- Bowie was revolutionary. This song's about drag queens- he was in the scene....

Saying no to what you want because of the person upstairs, only to be 😢watching the same person you said no for say yes...
right on
You should check out his “David Live” album. It was recorded back in the 1970’s and the whole album is awesome; it’s definitely worth checking out 👍
Moonage Daydream live is spectacular
