Love when I see someone measure like I do, lol I can feel your excitement, I recently filled most of 2 totes with fabric from a thrift store for about $30, it was SOOOO much fabric
It's the fastest easiest way to get a general idea! 😂😂😂 Love it!! I am just beyond excited! I have a thousand ideas for quilts and projects in my head. Only a true sewer/quilter would get so excited over fabric scraps. I love it. (Jelly rolls have 40-42 Strips each 2 1/2” wide and sell for about $34.00) What a wonderful find! Happy Sewing.

LOL.... I love scrap quilts and scrap projects so finding this was a dream come true! I know! Jelly Rolls are expensive. We stopped by a local quilt store in my area around my birthday in March and my husband was going to buy me one as well as a coordinating fabric and I was like "ouch" .... I wound up not purchasing it but did however purchase 3 patterns and some notions and a bottle of Flatter. 😜 I like to support my local quilt shops when I can too. As far as the fabric though.... I like to source it second hand when possible from thrift shops, antique shops and estate sales. Truly an amazing find! ❤️

Don't get me wrong..... I buy from shops too. You are so right, I saved tons of money being able to get all of this fabric at the thrift shop. 😊🌼

This particular store used to be a little more expensive. I haven't gone in there in awhile because I felt like they were getting a little pricey. I feel like the prices were definitely lower. I'm not sure where you are located, but you are right.... prices vary greatly region to region.

Thiis is a new store since I have lived in Alaska, I used to find lot of good sewing material at Bishops attic in Soldotna, Just in case you are ever down there check it out.
I used to shop at Bishops Attic allllll the time! Love that little shop. It was right down the road from my Father in Laws house so I'd pop in often and always scored fantastic fabric there! I used to love the $5 fill a bag deals they did! I found tons of zippers and other notions there too. I used to find really nice fabric at Salvation Army too both in Soldotna & Kenai. Occasionally at Bargain Basement but I've learned they have since closed down since we moved. I miss that shop Bishops Attic though. Such wonderful treasures I've found there. Now that I am in Texas, I have found loads of unique wonderful shops here as well.
I am amazed!! Wow, gorgeous fabric, I love all the color, all the patterns and some even reminded me of 70s prints, my high school years!! Leo loves Pete the Cat so I do know him and have read several books to Leo. And he has two stuffed Pete the Cat. I can't wait to see what you make. Do you ever have trouble sleeping thinking about all you want to make? That happens to me when I get new yarn, especially presents that are a total surprise, my mind just keeps going and going with ideas. Great shopping!!! Prayers, love and hugs my very dear friend 🙏💚🤗

Some days you don't find a darn thing. The key is, check in often as they are constantly putting items out on the sales floor. Happy treasure hunting!

Awww man, I'm sorry to hear that. Such a shame when such a wonderful resource for the community has to close it's doors. 😞 Yes, Salvation Army is another great place to find fabric, notions, yarn etc.
Wish we had that store in Baytown. It rocks. I would have a blast in that store..

Wow with thrift store that size why would you pay retailer for anything....great fabric haul.....someone did a major clear out.....such cute fabric a sawtooth star and wonky star sooo fun!!

It's amazing! I love that shop but haven't stopped in there for awhile. I am so happy my husband decided to pop in there. They literally have EVERYTHING! (almost) Surprisingly not much furniture though. Or if they do get furniture in.... it sells as quick as it arrives. 😂 I think so too.... someone did a clear out. I am finishing up some sewing projects before I cut into these fabrics. I have loads of ideas on what I want to make. It's hard not to get into now. 😂
This is how I feel about the littel thrift store I found in presque Maine I spent 245 dollers but I got over 60 different panels 10 bolts of 15 yards each of Bantrex solids they where 7 dollers a bolts I didn't find 3 different bolts at 20 each of Windham I honestly wish I had more space in my car because I would have left with so much more when I go next year I'm definitely bringing only a suit as with clothes so I can get more bolts at that price I wouldn't need anything for a year 🤣🤣🤣

Great fabric haul! The red and green placemats and napkins (how about appliqueing on them & use at Xmas time?). If there are only 2 placemats, sew them together end to end to make a table runner and add applique; gosh, I have about 10 possibilities coming to mind! How fun: I LOVE going into thrift stores! What do I buy? Men's plaid shirts to cut up for quilting & adult bibs for men, neck ties that I wash, open, press and cut 2.5" squares and strips (for quilts), any kind of COTTON clothing that can be cut up (the fabric must be in good shape, good color & patterns); I'm always on the prowl for quilts or quilt tops, vintage linens, old vintage-like aprons, duvet covers, packaged cotton fabric, blah, blah, etc. And, you CANNOT beat the prices! I LOVE thrift stores! I sometimes browse the ceramic(s) section for antique plates, PIE BIRDS (which I collect - man, they are hard to find!). Gosh, the ideas & items are limitless. Go thrifting; you will be surprised! It is like a giant treasure hunt! Thank you so much for this video. ❤

Ooooo that is a wonderful idea for the placemats! 👍🏻 I am not great at appliqué but this would be a wonderful opportunity for me to practice. I have LOADS of ideas in my head for sooo many projects! I am currently finishing up the projects I already had " in the works" so I can crack into the haul fabric. I LOVE thrift shops too! Pretty much my entire house ( with the exception of our mattresses and tv's ) is thrifted. I just picked up a beautiful wingback chair today that is Sage Green with matching ottoman in fantastic condition for $14.99. Yes men's shirts are a great source of fabric! The bigger the better! You and I are 2 peas in pod. We shop for very similar items! The only exception is I have never purchased mens ties. I have a friends whose mom collects pie birds as well. I am always on the look out for one when I am out and about thrifting. I have never found one. It is truly a treasure hunt. 🤗

You might have mentioned it in the video, but how much did you spend total? Just curious.
I didn't say because it was hard to calculate. This particular store does color tag sales. What they do is pick 2 different colors and list one @ a 30% discount and the other at a 50% discount. We also picked up a few other items. I know our Grand total for everything was approximately $55 ish 🤷♀ I will keep better track in the future.
