With all the spring holidays and activities I’m sure you will find a ton of occasions to make this greeting card for. The step-by-step video tutorial will have you making and dreaming of ideas for other types of matchbook cards you can make. It's easy and gives you an extra element of creativity in your crafting!
The Basic Design of a Matchbook Card: A matchbook card consists of a fold in the cardstock where the other side or top of the cardstock can tuck under the flap-just like the old-fashioned matchbooks! This element can be created on your card in a couple of different ways and I have samples of both!

Love this card template. I will definitely be putting the marigold bundle on my list. It is beautiful with the 2 step stamping. Marigolds never go out of style in the flower world. I work in a Farm Market and marigolds are one of the big big sellers. Thank you.
Anne, marigolds are very cheerful.
So cute! I still have Marigold Morning from , I think, the very first In-Colors!
Mary, thank you for watching.
OMG These cards are great! I love the purple but the Cajun craze is gorgeous too. Even though these are plain old marigolds, there is something WOW about them. Thanks for the great ideas!
Mary Ruth, so glad you like them.
What a great card to use up the papers I have been hoarding because both sides are way to pretty to waste. I wish I had 10% of the creativity that you've got ! You just keep blowing my mind with your designs. 😍 💖 Gorgeous color combo that I would never have thought of using.
Holly, your kind words made my day.
Wow, what a neat design. Simple yet classy look. Thank you for sharing! I use your designs all the time, Connie. Your instructions are so good and easy to replicate. Most of my 50+ Christmas cards were your designs. Can't wait for Easter!
Malathi, you just made my day!!
Gorgeous cards! I love marigolds, but they go by a completely different name in Dutch (Afrikaantjes = little Africans. Perhaps they originated in Africa?), so the "Heart of Gold" sentiment isn't as apt. The Dutch are flower growers and have cultivated marigolds in many colors, from pale yellow to (too) bright orange, in single colors and in mixed ones. Most ants don't like them and, maybe even better, nor do greenfly! Awesome pest control. Ours are usually in the color mix you used in your 1st card. However, I personally prefer the colors in your 2nd card! The landscape is easier for the recipient to display. Thank you so much!
Ineke, I am learning they are good pest control. Thank you for sharing this information.
I don’t like the stampin’ seal tape… I’ve thrown a few away because they go off track and are a pain to try and fix
I found the same with crafter's companion 'stick and stay' because my cards fell apart within 3 days! Once the tape goes off the track it doesn't matter what brand but the worst ones here in the UK are hobby crafts own! Awful things and whilst they're only £1 you may as well just buy post it notes because they're at least useful x
I am sorry to hear that. I am glad that we have a lot of different adhesive choices out there.
Love the cards ❤
Ginger, so glad you like them.
Hello both of you ladies
Sandy, thank you for watching.
Did stampin up ever have a small paper trimmer scoring tool.
Sandy, I honestly can't remember.
Do you let the shammy dry before storing it away?
Angela, no I just put it away.
I think the paper and the sentiment was enough
Mary, thank you for watching.
What’s going on? The link for this tutorial doesn’t take us to the matchbook card. It goes to a video four months ago! Am I doing something wrong?
This video was posted on March 9, here is the link. I am not sure why it didn't take you to the link. simplysimplestamping.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/matchbook-cards-3-9-23.pdf
I watched someone else using the marigold set and added a pocket to their card and put a packet of marigold seeds in it.
Laura, that is a clever idea.
Watching replay…our internet was out
Deb, thank you for watching.
Hello ladies
Sandie, hello and thank you for watching.
Pretty cards, but the scrapbook paper is simply NOT thick enough to be a card base. If nothing else, cut pieces the same size and adhere to a base that is NO LESS than 100 - 110 lb.
Robin, I haven't found it to be problem.
Great card! Thank you!
Mary, You are so welcome!
