      @@csquaredboxing Thank you for the invite, Carlo. If I ever get out to Arizona, I definitely will, and would bring my son. I think he could learn a lot from you.
      Speaking of son, he says he thinks the GIL face saver head gear is better than the Everlast MX. He bases this on the fact that he can get the GIL head gear in black. Smh.
      Do you have any info on the GIL head gear? What's your take on it?

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks man, come out and Id be happy to put some work in with you guys. I dont have any experience with GIL or their face saver; however I do know that GIL (I believe) is formally Zepol Boxing, which made some pretty quality Mexican made equipment. LOL, the black color increases hand speed and power, didnt you know that?

    I just purchased a pair of these, Blue 10Oz and they arrived today. After trying I found that Everlast seems updated these model. I've tried a pair of 8Oz and a pair of 10Oz XL before in a local Boxing Gym and felt the same to what Carlo described in the review video, but the new pair I've purchased is quite different: 1) the surface leather seems to be changed to more closed to the MX 2.0 Fight Gloves with more folds and old school look, 2) the comfort improved a lot with much easier to form a complete/perfect fist and the pressure between the index and fore finger improved a lot also, and 3) the foam and padding seems to be a bit thicker and harder comparing to previous version. Overall it feels like a mix of Rival RFX SFF (the wearing feel) and Venum Hammer (the foam and padding) and making it a really perfect gloves for pad and bag works (still need gel or more handwrap to protect your knuckle for it is still fight gloves, not good at shock absorption).

    Love your videos! in my spare time i refferee on boxing events, while the margins differ in countries (netherlands has 0,3 ) i have seen inspectors weigh gloves.
    While they do that they put all of the lace on top of the glove to get the most accurate reading, since laces can be of diffent lenght and weight.

    Put vaseline on the gloves it will soften the leather so you won't have problems with the thumb because that area will strech and mould to your hand.

    Just got this glove model today. Overall nice glove and good quality. One exception though, the thumb is not lined and the foam is exposed on both gloves. Apparently Everlast designed this by purpose. Maybe as a fight glove for short usage this doesn’t matter. But as I wanted these as a replacement for my old Winning pad training gloves I doubt the foam will hold up.

    I Love how in-depth you go about the gloves. Great video like always man. Question tho ? I've been looking for some gloves to buy for my girl who's been training for a few weeks now. I'm training her myself and I only bought her cheap everlast gloves because I didn't know if she would actually like it or not but she loved it although she's got a powerful punch for a girl and her knuckles start to hurt mid session. Any recommendations for the price of around 100ish

    • @EricMichaelSC
      @EricMichaelSC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm sure Carlo will give you more selections but I figured I'd give you my thoughts on gloves for your girl as well. Now I'm not familiar with any gloves specifically made for women so I'm going off what I know/think generally. I think the Everlast Protex3 Evergel is a good choice to go with, BUT only if you buy them when Everlast has at 30-40% special. The gloves are regularly $150 and while I do like those gloves, I don't think they are worth that much, but with a discount that brings them down to the $100 range and I do think they are worth it for that price point. Also, I've never tried the Ring To Cage C17's, but I've read a ton of reviews and watched a lot of review videos on them and those seem like they would be a good choice as well for your budget. I believe Carlo has done reviews on both of the gloves I mentioned. Anyway, hope this helps!

    appreciate the review brotha! For the 9.9 oz issue at (3:48-3:52 of vid), it may have been possible that in the second pair you weighed, the laces seemed to have been off the scale accounting for the minor difference - an interesting speculation in case you'd like to recheck for the fucks of it haha Take care!

      @customerservice9602 I just bought a pair of these and they are super comfortable. Do you use these for training, and in your opinion, how durable are these gloves? I’ve heard good feedback about the durability, even when used for training.

    • @customerservice9602
      @customerservice9602 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@houpicsphotos I have a lot of gloves and most of them are fight gloves because they are made at a higher standard then training gloves, generally. So if they are your only gloves and you train everyday, naturally they are going to wear down faster. Also if you live in a humid area your gloves will wear down faster. You can obviously use them for mitts but you can also use them for the double end and small to heavy bags depending on how strong your hands are. Obviously if you have an injury or you don't have strong hands don't use them on the heavy bags. I slip in a gel pad in the glove for heavy bags anyway.

    whats the proper definition of a punchers glove? Its abit strange to think that a glove with the name "punchers glove" has less padding on the knuckle.
    It makes no sense, if it has less padding and can cause more damage then we would see fighters exclusively fighting in horse hair gloves only. But this isnt the case, fighters fight in all kinds of gloves, brands and designs.

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The term “punchers glove” usually means less padding OR padding like horsehair where it’s much softer and allows for maximum power transfer. A lot of people opt for a more padded glove for protection because they have hand injuries or previous hand problems that would probably be Re aggravated if wearing a punchers glove. That’s why you see some fighters like Floyd who’s used Cleto Reyes sparingly at the beginning of his career but later on switched to Grants for protection because he suffered hand injuries.
