My brother-in-law had a red Ford Galaxy 500 with a 390. I was 10 year old in '63. I was riding with him, he started reaching under his seat. Pulled out a pint of whiskey, drank about 1/4 in one drink. Driving maybe 75mph. I was scared as heck. He never missed a lick. Beautiful car.
I suppose , but do not know, that a 63 4 door version was sold by fleet sales to be used for police use in 63. Perhaps thise had a 352 or 390 ? I DK but I remember them because two local officers brought cars to their homes at night and I walked by them in the way to school , daily. I was about 10 years old or so. Made lots of AMT model cars in those days. 6th grade teacher had a 59 Pontiac . Deluxe model. She was a tall flashy model, herself. Always wore her high heels.
