as a person who recently went through a break up I can give you a tip that helped me the most - focus on yourself. Focus on your friends, your hobby, your workout routine or whatever brings a smile to your face.
100%. Just cause they’re friends doesn’t mean they have to spend a lot of time together. At least not while it’s fresh. I just hope it doesn’t make things harder for her if she’s hanging out with him as much as before. Always put yourself first. It’s easier to handle imo. Then when things get easier continue spending time together. That’s what I do/did in my relationships.
That’s what helped me and I’ve never felt so much love before until my friends showed it

I think that it is so amazing that you and Jake will remain friends, I am just wondering if it will be harder to … heal if there is not space? I think it would be really tough to still see the person regularly but with different terms, and no space in between to process, grieve and heal. It gets better with time! I know several people who have maintained a friendship with an ex… like they didn’t they did like them and love them, just turns out as a friend and not as a lover. I personally think it takes a lot of maturity to accept that and still grow alongside each other as friends ❤

@@Sandirahmaintaining a close friendship, especially hanging out one on one can slow down the process unnecessarily and cause hurt unnecessarily. Its best to take time for yourself and once youve processed and grieved you reconnect.
Its mature to realise this. Its possibly immature to hang onto that person you broke up with, maintaining a certain closeness when youre grieving, your brain csnt process that.

Im glad youve had good therapy sessions and therapists. Mine have all been such a nightmare that i just gave up on therapy! I even had one that had some kind of breathing problem and she coughed nonstop and said sorry and we could never get anything done! No progress! I put up with it for over a year because if i ever got that ill i would hope to still have a job but it really wasnt fair to her patients cuz we waited for her to get through a coughing fit then lost train of thought. It was frustrating!

I know I have no room to give my opinion buuut I don’t love that they are still friends :/ a break up is a break up whether or not y’all are still friends. i hope u know it’s ok to not stay besties right after the breakup as well, obviously do whatever feels comfy to y’all but having some space to heal from the romantic love and come back as friends so maybe it doesn’t feel as sad and confusing is okay, cuz i know lines can be blurred when you’re trying to stay friends w an ex! we support y’all no matter what as long as you’re happy and safe :) also i love what you said about backup cameras on cars, on both cars i’ve had in my life i didn’t have a backup camera or any parking/driving assistance features and it’s SOOO beneficial and actually easy to learn how to use your mirrors to backup, parallel park, etc. people really complicate it for no reason but once you get the hang of it you feel like a god 😂😂
