- Kaiser the Bengal cat performs a handful of his incredible cat tricks. I teach Kai using exclusively positive reinforcement and clicker training.
Kaiser is actually performing every one of these tricks. None of the videos are played in reverse; he really is walking backwards.
Kaiser is an amazing cat with an incredible disposition. He is great with my rats, enjoys going on walks, playing in the bath tub or in his water dish, and he thrives on doing tricks! I love Kai beyond measure, and I hope you enjoy watching his tricks.

Ever thought of auditioning for America's Got Talent? Sometimes there are people with talented pets, but mostly I see trained dogs. I haven't seen any shows with a trained cat. I really believe Kaiser could win a talent competition such as this.

You may refer to the credits of this video, the description, and my website to read that the behaviours showcased within this video were taught using exclusively positive reinforcement. Namely, I reward Kaiser for offering behaviours on his own and shape them into tricks. There is absolutely NO luring, cueing, manipulation, or any form of coercion used to teach these behaviours. I dislike using the term "training" since in reality I am merely capturing the behaviours Kai offers on his own, without anything done on my part. Once a "trick" is mastered, he will begin building onto it (e.g., offering a more exaggerated version of the captured behaviour, executing the captured behaviour for a longer period of time, etc.), thus creating new and more advanced "tricks". This way, Kaiser thinks for himself and it is ALWAYS his choice. Kai is a sensitive and highly independent individual and simply cannot be "forced" to do behaviours. If it is not his choice and if he doesn't enjoy doing a behaviour 110%, he absolutely will NOT do it. It is as simple as that. I have detailed information on my website regarding how my animals learn their "tricks" if you would like further information about this gentle, hands-off "training" approach.
As well, Bengals are an exceptionally intelligent, inquisitive, indefatigable, and a high maintenance breed of cat that are only recommended for expert cat owners. Mental stimulation, be it in the form of solving intellectually-oriented puzzles or learning behaviours such as the ones in this video, is vital for providing these brilliant felines with a supreme quality of life and preventing boredom. Bored Bengals quickly become extremely destructive and in some cases will exhibit severe aggression, and these animals either end up in shelters or are euthanized. Depriving these highly intelligent cats of the mental stimulation they require DAILY is a form of animal cruelty, and I love my cat far too much to do that to him.

That cat is AMAZING! Most cats I know just lay around. LOL
What thrills me more than the tricks you teach is the love you show. Every move Kaiser makes is done in appreciation of you knowing his or her character as a Bengal, a cat of excellent intellect, and athleticism. It's also, of course, clearly in his or her nature as Kaiser, who is as unique as my moggie, Zowie!

I just wanted to pop into the comment section here to say that I love what you do with your kids with the positive reinforcement and clicker training and that it inspired me to have a go at it with my kitty, Missy. She actually seemed more than happy to tackle some training and earn some treats for it. It also impressed me how fast she picked up on what I was aiming for with her. She only knows a few things right now and that's fine, it's just fun to work with her on some ideas from time to time and see how she feels about it. Tricks or not, I love her like she's my/our baby (and she is). We rescued her from a humane society and she is one of my best friends next to my boyfriend. She is definitely a Mama's girl and likes to be near me most of the time. Dad seems to be her favorite playtime person though. I do my best to make it interesting, but apparently he excels at it, haha ;p
This is my opinion. Kaiser is the best cat IN THE WORLD! He is the cleverest cat I have ever known and the handsomest! I love you kaiser!

I am blown away. I have 2 cats that sit, sit pretty, spin, high five, and now 2 kittens of one of them do the same. I've never seen cats do tricks so I think thats pretty good lol. Now, after this I have a lot of work to do. I will go to your web site I want to know more about how to train them without feeling like I'm treating them like circus animals. I sometimes feel like I'm hurting their dignity. I think that's the right word. I love my cats and they love me too so I try to treat them with respect at all times. Thanks for the video.

Kaiser is a model for training my cat.Unfortunately, I don't use verbal commands for my cat,but in the future I will train my cats for verbal commands.

Our little kitten just moved in a few days ago. Poor thing was taken too early from her mom and left in a laundry room.
In just a couple of days she has learned a very reliable targeting, as well as to sit and sit pretty on cue. First time training a (domestic) cat for me so we're having a lot of fun, and she seems to love it, purring the whole time.

I like how at 2:55 he gets a really sassy walk like he just saw some kids in a grocery store misbehaving and he's like "glad those aren't my kids".

Kaiser is awesome! My cats love learning tricks. Especially my Siamese, Duchess loves learning tricks but she only has 3 legs, so she can't do some of the things that Kaiser can. And some take longer for her because she has to gradually work on balance. You are an awesome trainer! And btw, I love your walls!

Yup. Bengals are the best! (For the right owners). Your guy is a wonderful example of a super Bangle (as I call them). My Solar Bangle says hello - from Ottawa, Ontario. He has a couple vids on my channel. Anyways, thanks for loving your guy so much:) I know how you feel.
Really nice tricks! I think it's easier to train a Bengal some of them, though. My cat is more the lazy type and does stuff like Sit, Paw, Lay Down, Roll Over or Jump Over My Leg. But not much more. She would never do something like going from A to B or jumping in my arms, due to her laziness. It really depends on the cat how many tricks you can teach her. Bengals are sure one of the best breeds to try.

Every time I see a new video is up from you guys I know I'm about to be amazed. This one is no exception, I admire the patience, skill and creativity that must have gone into training these guys. All the stuff Nana can do alone would be enough for me to crown you the best trainer I have ever seen, but then there's Kaiser and ... well mind blown.

Well that makes it even more awesome :) I'd never imagined you can train a cat like that. I lived with two cats, one was lazy cuddler and the other is aggressive loner :D the only trick they can perform is to get in any kind of a box :D

Kai, you are actually the most amazing cat in the world! So many brilliant tricks I have never seen a cat do before, I love the sideways copcop, rolling the barrel and doing the shopping, actually I just loved them all!! Walking backwards in meerkat pose was super clever too :-D
