Even if I haven't been in love with the last couple of entries in the series, Pokemon has an immortal charm that keeps bringing me back. Wondering if poison will still be in the top tiers. Edit: near the end now and our lists are almost the exact same. The only difference for me is I would switch the placements of fire and water.
Personally my fave type is normal. I like when elements are represented through gameplay; electric is fast, rock is defensive etc. Normal as a type is the blank slate, not particularly strong in any area but with variety so vast that life's saying it's becoming too spicy. The strength of normal types doesn't come from their STABs it comes from everyone else's. I just think that's cool and ingenious design.
A fellow Normal type lover. Gotta respect. Hell, that's why Eevee is my favorite Pokemon, because it's evolutions embody potential. Basically, Normal type is to Pokemon as Red-Eyes is to Yugioh.

A lot of normal types have interesting gimmicks, like Slaking's high stats but turn skipping ability, or Kangaskhan's Mega evo Ability. I would say that a good bit of Normal types have slightly higher stat distribution than their more elemental brethren. Plus the only have one outstanding weakness, Fighting, which isn't a great type to be weak to, but a lot of Normal types have enough Def or HP to hold out.

My personal favorite from each in order are: Aerodactyl, Wigglytuff, Kabutops, Trapinch, Hypno, Flareon, Mawile, Altaria, and Sudowoodo the first shiny Pokémon I ever bred by accident and later lost tragically to a save file corruption.

You know what's fun about Pokemon? The fact that every single one of them is someone's favorite. There's so many of them that it's practically a buffet of fun and interesting creature designs. Even if one is not for you, it could be someone's cup of tea (and with the recent generation, possibly literally!)
