I would not include creation and evolution in the same sentence. They are not compatible.
@mdbrimberry I'm a millennial, so I understand the Kingdom and how evolution and the Bible go hand in hand. 😶🌫️ One day, the government might pay to educate people who were left behind when God was taken out of school.

Holy cow! A pastor almost kicked me out of his church for playing Song For Sarah by Randy Stonehill on Valentine's Day Sunday. A little over a year later he got kicked out for misappropriation of funds.
Difficult to hear
Im not happy about what happened. It's gross. It's awful, but I do need to point out because I lived during that time in ministry and things like this was very well-known and very well practiced unfortunately.
there was unfortunately there was little to no punishment under law. In the church you were lucky if they even believed any child on anything.
so even if this went to law-enforcement again, this would have been a slap on the wrist at most if even taken seriously at all. go back to the laws during that time and look for yourself. The system didn't do much for kids, even when the person was caught. There was no registry and even the reporting limit would have went past the statue. The shame that she would've went through would have been especially in a small town unbearable. You got to imagine that most children unfortunetly are abused by the ones they know especially family teachers and coaches. Those are stats still to this day are dominate. More kids get this done to them by teachers than any other field. I could see a parent, not taking it to enforcement at that time and working something to get this addressed privately. It would've been a horrible situation for this girl if it had been public.
i'm not saying it because I side with the pastor for doing it. He stepped down out of ministry. It's been 35 years. If there had been other victims, they would have come forward we've opened up so much For children to have a voice that are now adults, we removed a lot of the statue of limitations.
we are suffering in the church because we're not addressing the situation in the church at all. We have got to set ourselves apart .the world doesn't give somebody a 35 year sentence for something like this.
This should never happen to a child.
We need to have something in place to help. I dont know what that is but I pray maybe this lady can help the church understand what can help. I pray she finds healing and can help us all understand what would help to make her whole. The pastor if nothing does come out we need that in the church. healing and non repeat offenders. Jail doesnt do that. We need something better. our kids deserve it. Not an easy story. Handled with grace. Hurts my heart. Kids in the 80s dealth with this and kids today still are. It needs to
stop.
