I had to look this up and watch it again. I remember when it was first released but that was a long time ago and I wish you would make more videos like these. The reason I was looking it up again is that we are opening our sanctuary soon and some of the first residents that will be moving in our three foxes that were saved from becoming fur coats. Their names are Loki, Mischief and Voodoo.

Lovely video! Groundhog is one of my primary and favorite symbols, but Fox has recently come overwhelmingly into my life. I keep running into images of Fox, I saw a deceased gray fox on the highway and a few nights ago had a powerful dream where a red fox literally delivered me a letter stating some changes I am supposed to make in my life. I have never had a spirit come through so powerfully or so clearly, I think my head's still spinning a little from the honor and the surprise. I enjoyed listening to you talk about Fox medicine and look forward to the support of this ancient magic as I embrace new change and growth. :)

I really loved this Laura! I've started to feel that the fox may be my Totem animal, i feel a connection to them. And also, I think the Scandinavian folklore woman you mentioned here at the end is the figure that is known here as "Huldra", an enchanting, tempting, beautiful young woman with long blonde hair from the mountain/forest. Actually she is more commonly thought of as having a cow's tail than a fox's x) But very informing and great video all in all
Great video on fox totems, my totems are fox and bear so I really enjoyed your info, characteristics and descriptions, qualitie's of the fox are very much engrained in myself. I did not realize this until I started researching foxes. I was very surprised to see so much of myself in them. Thanks for this video, namaste, :)

I don't know how I managed to miss this one, but Fox is my main spirit animal and Fox medicine is very strong in me, so it was really interesting to get some different insights from you, Laura. Especially interesting to hear how Fox was so revered by so many different cultures. I can testify to the invisibility and camouflage as I've actually being half sat on by people who just didn't notice me sitting there, lol.

I was born on the 21st of September...always loved foxes...just now connecting the dots of the numbers 21 and 9. 21 being the number of species and 9 being the max amount of tails a Kitsune (Japanese fox spirit) can attain. ENFP here too...fascinating that foxes have such wide spread influence in the world. Grateful to have a strong connection with them as well~

Nice video! I found the connection between the fox and Imbolc / febuary a very interesting thing because. I am born in febuary (two days after Imbolc) and one of my 3 totem animals (african wildcat, fox and raven) is the fox.

thank you for this video. i did this medication and found myself in a meadow surrounded by purple flowers and warm sun with a light wind. anyway I sat there and a cute red fox comes up to me and was very playful then sat in my lap. im not sure but I think it may be my personal animal spirit. but the name swift came to my mind when she looked at me.
There is a sharp contrast between the Chinese story of Hu Li Jing and the kitsune' tales of Nippon. In China, the fox spirit is almost always a bad thing, (thanks to the most popular myth). In Japan, there are two factions of kitsune, (fox spirits). Nogitsune, or wild fox, can be malevolent, (not always though), and myobu, the foxes thought to be under Inari's guiding light. I highly recommend the book, The Fox and the Jewel if anyone here has interest in the subject.

i was born on the 21st... and im INFJ (being able to see and cause trickery :p)... seems like the fox is spiritually connected :3 i've seen foxes through out my life and i live in the red fox state(MS)! IF it wasnt for the fox i would never got into gaming (Eevee, Star Fox, and Ninetales) and anime (Kurama [Naruto's Ninetails]). :D
a cold evening when my partner and I were sitting in Kings Park overlooking the city, a very important conversation happening between us that decided whether we would stay together or seperate, a red fox came seemingly out of nowhere and right up to me as I sat next to him. I've told people before and they said how unusual it was and that foxes never approach people let alone in Kings Park - a popular destination for people. Now it seems the fox may be my spirit animal.
So, what was the fox telling you? To stay together or split up?? ;-) And did you listen? ;[-)

Yay!! That is what I thought it told you, and that is clearly why fox showed up! I believe you will probably stay together, because the universe seems to be in favor of this union. Do you believe that this fox influenced your decision to stay together? To share something that magical is a very special bond. Animals are drawn to energy and it was the combined energy of the two of you that drew it to you, in this case, although you were both probably in a very emotional state, and maybe even asking the universe to help you make the right decision . . . and fox may have been responding to that unusual and sincere energy . . . I am sure you know, animals are ALL about energy. You were smart to go and sit in a beautiful park to make your supreme decision. A beautiful little fox and her two adorable teeny cubs just moved into my back yard a few days ago -- that is why I watched this video. They have befriended my four cats, and seem to have decided to be part of my family. ;-) They have given me two large stale tortillas, and I have given them two eggs and a few doggy biscuits, and a perpetual bowl of water. And the magic begins . . . and I was just longing for a dog, a few days ago . . . but felt I was not quite in a position to get one, since I may have to take a job a few hours away . . . then fox moves in. Also, I have had an exceptional few weeks, after almost dying a month ago, and I have adopted a new, and much more positive outlook on life . . . and then the sly fox shows up and says, "I want to be a part of this -- this feels very good!" So glad you shared your story, Kenti. Animals are so amazing.
I suspect fox could be one of my animal totems. i highly love them and I learned a lot in this video. Some things I didn't know at all, so I'm very grateful.
Your videos are quite interesting, I will check them all from the beginning and watch the topics I'm interested so I can learn more :)

The shinto god of grain, Inari, would use foxes as messengers. If you would see a fox in your field it meant you were going to have a good harvest and Inari was watching out for it. Possibly because the fox were eating the vermin within the fields themselves.
So a cheata says to fox "you know us cats have 9 lives" and the fox replies 'What! ...which...k....nine....signed off on.....ohhh"
i don't know much about this stuff but i do know the fox is my totem. i have always loved the fox ever since i was very little. once when i was out camping a wiled fox started following me. best day ever. even now, years later i still get excited when i think about my connection to the fox. the thing is i don't really know how to figure out who your totem is. i have a friend who is wiccan (??? sorry if i posted that wrong) i have never asked cuz i would be crushed if it turned out my totem was really the... um... dung beetle or something (don't want to offend dung beetle lovers out there) but i just get the feeling it has been and always will be the fox.
anywho, just wanted to say thanks for posting this vid. it's always nice the here people talking about the fox in a positive light. thanks~
It's not like you can find out by just looking it up, although you can do mediations and whatnot. But if the fox has crossed your path and stayed with you, and you genuinely feel a real affinity with it, then it probably is your totem or spirit animal. Sometimes they turn out to be animals we least expect, sometimes they stay for life, others wander in and out as they are needed. Your totem should make you feel excited and energised and safe, and bring you a feeling of wisdom, learning and respect, so I think you've probably found yours, at least for the time being :)
Right now I'm in the middle of a sea horse and dolphin kick but I know its just a phase cuz I still really love the fox. What I feel for the fox is different than what I feel for the others but it makes me wonder, can you have more than one totem?
jerricho11 additionally, you can have animal spirit guides and totems (and more than one totem, though not usually very many) - spirit guides are the ones who you suddenly see often in your life (or are quite drawn to). they are there to give you a lesson or help you with learning a lesson.

Had an.. odd day yesterday, and was really hoping today would be different. So when I get on youtube and the first thing I read is a conversation about about dolphin rape...yaaah... I'm seriously thinking of just going back to bed. lol

I have three totems ~ fox, wolf and owl. And I'm a wolf therian with barn owl wings and my spirit guide is a foxish thing so hey! But anyways, from my tribe (I go from a native american idea) most women only have 1, maybe two. I have three. And I've been called a fox many a time, though I'm a dire wolf it didn't offend me like calling me a dog would.
The Japanese alone have oodles of fox tales and myths,and even snacks to appease them too.Inarizushi are little abura-age packets (fried tofu bags)filled with rice,made especially for the Inari (rice) shrines,foxes guard.Kitsune (keets'nay) is the name for fox,and women with kitsune faces are considered very attractive.Lots of kitsune women fill their folklore and many woodblock prints can be found too.HuLi Jing are the Chinese fox women.Wonderful video series!

I think that it is funny that you did fox, I just finished reading a book called Daughters of Danu, very good simple book by the way. Anyway the Goddess Danu would come in and out of the story many times appearing as a vixen.

just catching up on your vids and i love this one. I had the joy of watching a family of foxes live behind me once. Didn't see much of the male fox, but saw the female interact with her pups and it was very cool. Watching them play was neat too, other than them eating up some of my stuff, but I didn't mind in the long run. On a side note, I have a name for our leaders, not sons of foxes, but sons of bitches! lol, loved the vid laura, keep them coming!!!
right now in my life I am not where I want to be, jobs and opportunities come here and there, but every time I see a fox it's right before or right after my brother tries to make me mad or fight me intentionally, or my girl want argue or fight me as if something is on them, I know that this is sign cause, but I am have such a heard time to figure it out, it is as if I can't find peace of mind. CAN SOMEONE SHARE THERE INSIGHT. I FEAR THE NEXT I WON'T BE ABLE TO WALK AWAY. IT'S LIKE THE DEVIL HAS A EYE ON ME

I had meditations and mostly one white fox came and now I remember when I was little I saw a fox that was moved right in front me It kinda scared me I said that to my family and of course nobody believed me because I was little and they didn't see it and I had dreams about that fox days after and now about 11 years later after the meditation I saw that fox. Interesting
