  • "When Okrika people opposed them, Sekibo and Dikibo recruited Ateke and some other boys and used them to kill and maim our people. Those who opposed the imposition of Abam as the Amanyanabo of Okrika were also killed and their houses destroyed," Ogan said.
The massacre, Ogan said, started on September 22, 2001 during a wake keep in Abam's compound and snowballed throughout Okrika. His business centre, he said, was set on fire.
Ogan said on September 25, 2001, Ateke and his boys attacked his home, killing Henry Ogan, Thankgod Ogan and Innocent Ogan. The fourth person, he said, was murdered in cold blood and the house set ablaze.
Ibulubo said Sekibo and Dikibo empowered Ateke to pursue a reign of terror in Okrika, adding that they were responsible for the assassination of one Chief Obolobulo. Obolobulo, he said, was murdered few days after the man went to Abuja to submit a petition at the National Assembly on the role of Sekibo and Dikibo in the Okrika crisis in Okrika. The intention, he said, was that the National Assembly would think twice before approving the nomination of Sekibo who had just been tipped for ministerial appointment.
Ibulubo said all that he worked for in life were destroyed during the carnage and he was chased into exile by the PDP mercenaries.
However, they said they were willing to pardon their tormentors and demanded a guarantee that some of what they lost would be restored.
