jesus christ, i idolized these people when i was a kid. rewatching all these videos now that i used to obsess over ages ago, it still evokes this odd fascination. unfortunatley, it also makes me remember all the sad things i was experiencing at that time, kind of pushing me back into depression even today...
Pat almost has that acoustic guitar sounding like an electric guitar - some of the sounds he's got coming out of it! He almost seems like he SHAKES the tunes out of a guitar. UNIQUE to say the least! Love it!
hes part of the reason why the first shambles album was the best. the album doesnt make him look like the greatest guitarist, but i respect that even more...its that john frusciante thing of being able to play really fucking good, but having the ability to hold yourself back, to just play the things that are appropriate for the music youre making. im currently transcribing the whole album to maybe steal some liks from him or something, i kinda wish there would be more solo kinda stuff on there. the closest to a solo that it gets is the little part on A Rebours.
yes but for BIG DAVE their's an instrumental on here, the guy who uploaded is called "Nearerdark" and it's got Ruth Goller and it's called last two songs! :)
Anyone know the name of the song hes playing? Here is a video of him playing the whole song. Or if anyone can help me with chords for it? Check the full song out here th-cam.com/video/hhJZmRfzc80/w-d-xo.html
@professorro Hi!! I know! Even w/him talking over it, I still listen to this all the time like it's a regular song! PATTTT! That must have been something to sit there and listen to and watch him play... Have you heard any of his new stuff w/Rob Mannall(sp?). They put it on facebook - like 28 songs in a short amount of time. Love your other vids too!
@anycolouryouwant Hi there! My post was probably confusing... I meant for a few seconds in there, he had the acoustic almost sounding like an electric guitar (to me it did anyway, but I'm no guitarist!). :~)
please more videos tabs chords!pat is so underratet! if you listen to down in albion again and again you'll discover his imense talent. i still love the shambles but without pat it isn't the same. the new guitarist is a joke! (sorry for my bad english)
Babyshambles need Pat and Pat needs Babyshambles. He's an amazing guitarist, but he needs to be with someone "high-profile" like Pete to get some wider recognition. It's funny because I've been following BS from the beginning and back then a lot of people didn't like Pat's playing. I think they preferred the fat, rich sound of Libertines guitar. But I always felt his Jazzmaster sound was perfect for the 'Shambles. It made their sound really distinct.
i deisagree there, its pats and petes music, why shouldnt pete carry on playing it without him, im sure pat still plays it, there good songs you cant keep away from people. its music at the end of the day
he had to go to rehab, and i think he hit his girlfriend in a fight...mick the new guitarist was an old friend and the guitartech of the band...but i miss pat too because he was obviously bette than mick...saw them last week they are still great!!!!
fair point but not a cause for laughter - I have attempted to present a truthful, raw account and window into the creative process and personalities. Patrick is a great hugely popular musician and as far as I know healthy and living happily. I hope so and wish him well. This is not a freak show. Thanks for the comment. All reactions are appreciated.
do you realise Pete gives words and melody and Pat just give the "twist" to the sound (a good one I have to say), so there's no reason to be whinig "boohoohoo where is Pat" c'mon!!!!! he's no more with the shambles, such a shame! but get over it.
this man is so incredibly good on guitar..i'm stunned.
so am I .... oh I beg your pardon you said "stunned"
Walden is wonderful and gracious guitarist.
Need come back !
I honestly think this guy is one of the top 10 pop guitar players of all time just for down in albion
Killimangiro ep is good
Pat is THE Babyshambles guitarist! No one else
no question. And Gemma is the drummer.
i just cant help coming back to this video what a tune man pat is such an amazing guitarist !
❤🎸👌

Thats so Johnny Marr esque at the very beginning...Pat is amazing.
he is just the best! i'd do everything to see him live!
"Up the morning” from Down in Albion, is I believe one of the really great songs which are OWNED by Patrick.
Love that riff he plays towards the end. Seen a few vids on YT where he plays it. Nice post Paul

I remember watching that 2005 live

@anycolouryouwant Hi there! My post was probably confusing... I meant for a few seconds in there, he had the acoustic almost sounding like an electric guitar (to me it did anyway, but I'm no guitarist!). :~)

Anyone got chords or tabs for the belter riff he plays?
i found this th-cam.com/video/hhJZmRfzc80/w-d-xo.html
the second man of babyshambles!
probably an improvisation...
gutted he left babyshambles
You say that like Pete can just kick drugs in five seconds. Pat decided he didn't want the environment.
he had to go to rehab, and i think he hit his girlfriend in a fight...mick the new guitarist was an old friend and the guitartech of the band...but i miss pat too because he was obviously bette than mick...saw them last week they are still great!!!!
Damn pat can definitely rip but he looks strung out as hell here.
haha cool
amazing its a shame because of his addictions he had to leave the shambles!!!!
i heard he assaulted his girlfriend. and therefore during trials decided to quit the band. altho really unsure if thts correct! x
thanks very much would of never of found that
for anyone else looking
watch?v=hhJZmRfzc80
That was brilliant. He shouldnt have left the band. lol.
He was killing himself with drugs, he definitely should have left
(A reply to other comment)
Why is someone talking all over it 😢
that's James Mullord something to do with penis size.
yeh getting the new guitarist to play pat's songs is just an insult...
he looks so high on smack lol

Alot is about the songwriting skill. Anyone can learn to be technically brilliant, but in Indie-music, that's a waste of time.
youre 100% right
Pat > Mik
He's i bigger yes, beacause of all medecines for heroin
kurt cobain look with john squire skills!
