This came in very handy. I keep you posted, how my party will do in the Port. I will work in the "Death cellar", which is a nice little mini dungeon, where in the end, they will find out about the details of the death curse. Also i have read a nice .pdf about the dinosaur races and how to make them more fun and exciting. Lets see how that goes.
I will soooo steal your gladiator fight ^^
Rock on, dude and thanks for the vid, came out just in time 🤘

I'm glad I was already working on this one and that it was in time to be of some use to you. I totally forgot to mention the dinosaur races! I didn't do anything different or special with them so they probably didn't enter my mind. It did seem overly complicated so I'm glad you found something that works better for you. Let me know how it goes. Rock on!

My players didn't want to stay in Port Nyanzaru in either of my campaigns so I only had two sessions each.
What I did was create another jungle outpost in Ishau and took some bits there like the dino race and gladiator ring.
In my current campaign I created a trade prince who was a common friend of the pc's who called them to Chult to help his wife Syndra by finding the Soulmonger and stop the Death Curse.
I ran Malar's Throat exactly like you said except the gate malfunctioned so the pc's and some guards fought off a zombie attack while the Albino dwarves sorted out the gate. Hold for x amount of rounds kinda thing.
I went more Dinotopia with PN with Townguard flying around on Pterodactyls and messenger velociraptors. Really give the feel of Chultans and Dinosaurs living together in harmoney.
I created a Chultan dwarven captain of the watch called Tharbrek Stonebeard who served as a q-giver for a bit. He was like the tired chief of police in an action movie, doing what he can to protect the people while the pc's were like action movie cops.

I like the Dinotopia vibe! Such a cool visual. Isn't it great that we DMs have the power to just 'move' encounters around even if players don't do what we want them to do? :-) Cool content is cool content, there's are always ways to work stuff in later if players stroll past the first time. Thanks for the comment!
