Here in Italy knife laws are very strict and every time, if you are stopped by law enforcement, you need to prove you are carrying a knife for a "justified reason". I got a simple carbon steel machete with wooden scales, made by an Italian firm, the type commonly used by farmers in my region. If I were ever stopped by the police and asked why I'm carrying that knife, I would simply answer that I was going to a piece of land I own nearby to clear some brush, just ordinary stuff for every landowner in my rural/suburban area. That would be a lot harder to pull off if I were ever found with some tacticool Rambo knife with a serrated blade and some fancy survival kit attached. 99% of the times blending in with your area of operations is the way to go. Very valid point. Ive made this argument during training in FMA. Winning a fight is important but court is mostly perception. Especially in a liberal court thats treating criminals as victims. You become the oppresser because you were prepared and won. This ideology of oppresser oppressed is destroying the world. Im sure that's what someone wants. It makes it difficult for us to manage in certain areas. Anyway great point. I have that same machete in tan. Love it.
