  • "Som dom kom så gick dom”. ”As they came, they went”. The fiddler Gås-Anders (Goose Anders) 1815 - 96, had been entertaining the university students in Uppsala and as usual earned good money this time paid as paper bills. On the way home, a bit tipsy, he stopped at a bridge over the Fyris river in northern Uppsala and laid his bills on the railing. A gust of wind blew the bills into the water. Gås-Anders then danced on the bridge and sang ”As they came, they went, As they came, they went”, trallarallarallarallaraa. A student saw the bills, undressed, swam out in the Fyris river and caught the bills. There is a great chance that this story is true.
