I wanted to ask though do you tend to come up with a diagnosis on the first evaluation or do you wait until you've meet with them 2 or more times? Or do you wait to maybe consult with their primary physician or their therapist to maybe bounce ideas to come up with a diagnosis?
What happens if you are in an appointment, and you get stumped? Don't know what to prescribe or order next? Can't just say "I'll get back to you on that".....I would assume. This is a huge fear of mine, as a final year student.
Hello Lotus, I think this would be a concern for a lot of new providers as we all will experience this at some point. You may have a patient that is very complex and you may need to consult with a more experienced provider. In my two years of practicing, I would say this happened in my first year a couple of times.

Hey just a video idea... Tell us the role of a psych NP and maybe scope of practice!!
Using a lot of these meds already as an FNP, makes sense why some FNP make the transition to psych with as much psych we deal with already in primary
