    Very well explained. Indeed. One of the best technical explanations I have seen so far about volume and price.

    Well done for explaining VP idea so clearly. Probably the first video I've watched that did it (also the other one you have on your channel). Way to go!

    Thank you very much for all your tutorials, I watched all your videos concerning the Volume Profile and I find them very constructive! but I think that it's missing a video in which you would show the good method to correctly trace the Volume Profile (fixed range). Personally I have a lot of trouble to draw it correctly and I have very random results. Thanks for everything, you do a huge job!

    Great Vids!! Question - with your VP settings, do you use number of rows or ticks per row and whats the difference between the two. thank you.

    Great videos! I have a question: when using visible range, how much of the history on the chart should I include on the left side? The volume profile obviously changes according to how much of the history is visible. Thanks!

    am having confusion when you ploting Volume profile on any trend just like in up trend then your value area (70%) is coming downwards but when am ploting same fixed range volume profile on any uptrend then my high value area (70%) is coming upwards ..its very confusing plz suggestwhat to do

  • @janalgos

    The thing I've been struggling with is what defines an HVN...could a single row thats way longer than the rest be considered an HVN? or does it need to be within a big cluster of higher volume rows? Also, what if the price action is inside the value area, where would you set your support/resistance? Thanks!

  • @gabrielalmonte7213
    @gabrielalmonte7213 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With the volume profile, you've answered that its best to use a fixed range at the beginning of a trend, if on the 5m chart we may see that an uptrend is happening and started 4 days ago, do we input the VP at the start of the trend 4 days ago? Or do you suggest to input the VP at a more recent time?

    • @bitcointradingchallenge3861

      It is all due to your discretion, there are no hard rules for VP placement. However if you do use Fibs when price is in a trend, I would recommend plotting the fixed range in the same manner you would plot your Fibonacci endpoints.

    Awesome videos! Watched all 4 in the Volume Profile series, but I'm still struggling with one fundamental concept. The Volume Profile changes so drastically depending on the range you select. How do you determine what that range should be? Take bitcoin for example. Do I use the range from Nov 13 where it began its huge run up to 20K, or the range from Feb 6, after it bottomed at around 6K? In both cases, the price was around 6K, but the volume profile obviously looks extremely different if I incorporate that previous bull run. I appreciate any insights you can offer!

    • @rachelfriedman8031
      @rachelfriedman8031 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or perhaps just use the range beginning on March 5, at around 11.7K - start of the current downtrend?

    • @bitcointradingchallenge3861
      @bitcointradingchallenge3861  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Use Fixed range volume profile as visible range will change a ton like you had said. Best tip I can give is to draw them in the same manner as you would draw Fibonacci endpoints (this will isolate the trend).

    I got two questions: 1) what time frame do you use the volume profile on or recommended ? 2) is the volume bars on the side suppose to move whenever you zoom in and out that has been really confusing me lol.

    • @bitcointradingchallenge3861
      @bitcointradingchallenge3861  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the 5M and it depends on whether you use visible range volume profile or fixed range.

      @luisp9073 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick response i'm trying to make it so it doesn't move i can't find where though

      Nvm i applied fixed alone and i swung it from the high of the chart to the low. Is that how you have your set up?

    Yay!!! Thanks so much for this professor! Excellent info as always! Even got questions right🙌 question for you...are there any known manipulations that can be done by bigger traders that may throw the volume profile price points off? e.g. cancelling of large sell orders? Just use other indicators?

    • @bitcointradingchallenge3861
      @bitcointradingchallenge3861  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No - the fantastic nature of the volume profile is that it cannot be manipulated. Many elite traders may use it, and that may cause certain patterns when price approaches important VP levels.
      The reason that the VP cannot be manipulated is that it gets its information from historical volume (volume that is located below price). Historical volume cannot be manipulated - as it simply refers to transactions that occurred within the timeframe of your choice.

Its great having the time to watch and re-watch your videos, I'm investing in my education, learning a lot and enjoying it! so BTC can wait a few more days! lol

    So if I drew the fixed range from the start of the current uptrend from January 2015 til today, the value area is at about 3k with an HVN at ~2800 (coincidentally what some major analysts have called). But there is also an HVN around 4400. Do I just ignore the 4400 since it's not in the value area?

    • @bitcointradingchallenge3861
      @bitcointradingchallenge3861  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, HVN's located outside the value area are just as important as HVN's located within the VA. I would mark it as possible support and look for other signs of confluence.

    • @erikirl01
      @erikirl01 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bitcoin Trading Challenge I have more confluence at 3k than 5k but it’s probably going to bounce somewhat at 5k because of the HVN right? Are there some signs that might tell me if the bounce is just a dead cat or if that’s the true bottom?
