I bought this set about 18 yrs ago. I have went from .15 to the 2.5r on my nitro stampede. I have never greased them and one just now broke. Best axles on the market in my opinion. I just bought another set. Thanks MIP
I know this vid is old for you, but this really helps me out as I found this kit I bought 5 years ago and finally the orig broke and now I can upgrade. Thanks for the clear and steady commentary of how this comes together.
Got home to put them on my nitro rustler and there was no directions watch the video for 2 minutes and I figured it right out thank you for the walk through
The set screw is part of a two-part system to ensure you don't lose your drive pin... When snap ring comes flying off during a nasty landing and your drive pin comes flying out you'll wish that you had put the set screw in as well...
You are the man! Those damn grub screws were driving me nuts because I couldn't find a hex wrench that fit the things. 1.5mm was too small, 2mm too big. 1/16" and 5/64" didn't work either. Looks like I'll stick with the stock pins like you did.
How did you end up without using the set screws? I just installed my MIP pucks drive system with no grub screws because it seems like they might add wear by bending the pin. I did hear shrink over the plastic collars to make sure they don't fall off. Will this be fine?
Do the hot racing ones work good or do they break easier. I need some driveshafts for my stampede vxl 2wd (profile pic) because I have broken 8 stock plastic driveshafts in the PAST MONTH so I'm looking for an upgrade.
BuckEyeHunter 03 im not sure about the hot racing ones, if anything you should try Mip cvd Kit part #11104 these are made for the Traxxas 2wds, I’ll be buying those soon but can’t afford them at the moment. I did however buy gpm shafts for my rustler, I’ll let you know how they hold up 😉😉

Excellent video. This company should pay you to teach how to videos on their products. The lack of instructions on rc stuff pisses me off.
I got a set for my rustler and I love them

Thanks man. Glad I could help. It just didn't make any sense to use there grub screws.
No, it's a dumb design really. I don't know why they didn't use the same style where it goes all the way through.
stock grub pin? it falls right through the output yolks
are these pretty close to the Integy driveshafts? Not the thick ones but they look something like those...
Also... nice edit with the snap ring... a shame we didn't get to see the 20 minutes of you struggling to get that bitch on...
part number T7988
are they about the same?

How did these axles do? I need some for my Rustler. I'm tired of the hot racing ones I'm using.
Oregon Dunes RC don’t get these, I snapped 2 stub axles on the first run on 2s

I bought some back in 2017 and the wheel stub broke after 2 short runs. Smh 🤦
was it from a harsh landing?
That fucking cricket
FYI I did grease the shafts. I didn't mention it in the video.
I figured it out nm
