In an effort to keep you entertained in quarantine, we continue our lockdown concert series by premiering the full unseen performance footage from Nina's 2005 hit album, Nina Live!
The live album, consisting of Nina's fan-favorite cover songs that she performed in her gigs, was recorded on January 30, 2005 at PHI Resto & Bar in Metro Manila and directed by Marla Ancheta. Nina and The Essence band rehearsed for only two weeks prior to the shoot since they already knew the songs. Nina's then-labelmates Christian Bautista, Thor, and Trapp of Dice & K9 also worked with the Soul Siren for this project.
Some of the timeless love songs included in the album are "I Don't Want to Be Your Friend", "Love Moves in Mysterious Ways", "Through the Fire", Constantly, and "I Love You, Goodbye". These were subsequently awarded as the 2000s most successful singles, making Nina Live! a massive success. A week after its release, it immediately rose to Gold status, and became certified Platinum in less than a month. It was also considered to be one of the country's biggest-selling album, certifying 10x Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.
The Nina Live! footage to be uploaded to Warner Music Philippines' TH-cam channel will also be part of the singer's birthday celebration.

Regine Velasquez, technically. Though they didn't call it Diamond that time, just 12X Platinum. And the actual physical copies sold were 480,000. That said, this album is great.

I'm an international dj and when I visited Phil to meet my wife year 2005. Bought this CD and Nina is the most soulful singer I have heard and thats saying a lot. My wife and I this is our favorite CD. Now we have 2 beautiful children.

I was in the Philippines in 2005 for 3 months & it was the best time in my life! I was introduced to Nina's music then and I loved her voice! What an amazing talent!
i remember how this whole album dominated the music scene in 2005-2007. everyone was singing love moves and through the fire. maybe 80% of the songs became hits. and up to now this album is a staple in our playlists. no wonder this was awarded diamond, sales were organic sans the hype and promos whatsoever. kasi naman ang ganda ng song selection (i don't know all the songs but i learned to love them all). nina's voice din is truly captivating, a legit hitmaker indeed even before this nina live album.

This album is so iconic that the height of the album's success, it has been a huge influence and reference to a series of live albums that were later released by different artists. Such albums that followed Nina Live! were Freestyle's Live @ 19 East (2006), Sitti's Sitti Live! (2006), Christian Bautista's Just a Love Song... Christian Bautista Live! (2007), Rachelle Ann Go's Rachelle Ann Rocks Live! (2008) and Aiza Seguerra's Live! (2009).

Always a fan. I would rather listen to the SOUL SIREN Nina than listen to singers who can damage your eardrum with unnecessary beltings. This was my most repeat CD when I was in my teens.

My all-time favorite Filipina singer. A true singer who CAN really sing live. The one and only Diamond Soul Siren--Nina. I've been a fan since 2008, I was grade 6 when I first got to know and really heard the beauty and soul in your voice. It was when I bought your Nina Live CD. I immediately fell in love with your voice the moment you sang "Love Moves In Mysterious Ways. I've been a fan eversince that day and up until now. I'll forever be a Nina fan. @@monsiason1920 I think what actually went wrong was that celebrity worship has become a phenomenon in the country to the point where they sell more than the actual singers/artists in the local music scene.
Recording labels leaned more on what's profitable, and that's celebrities with a solid fan base who's going to purchase the album/song.
It was actually OPM who penetrated the Korean music scene first (Nina & MYMP are a thing in Korea's cyberworld back then). Kpop only became a prominent figure in our local music scene from early 2010's till now.
What made kpop a powerhouse now is that they are heavily marketed by their Korean Labels and that's one thing OPM should invest on, a proper marketing strategy. And I think now is the best time for them to do so since a lot of great OPM indie artists are emerging and taking over the charts👍👍👍

My dad always makes me sing all the songs in these album when I was a kid every Sunday. I guess that was our bonding together. He'd always promise to buy lechon for me if I sing all of them before, sadly, my dad passed away last May 2020. This upcoming 30th of May will be his 1st Death Anniversary. I'm glad Nina was the one my father introduced me to. 😁

2023 we need this kind of talent and more support to our local artist like Nina and Juris, I hope someday our local artist will consider and get more international concert like korean's not by the looks but focus on the talent and voice. 🙃
