Excuse me ??? "Notre Dame I cannot stand" ??? I understand "rivalries" and all, but I certainly expected better from 50+ year old Rich. Rich needs to understand that many of his viewers are ND fans -- and he needs to show more respect to a school such as Notre Dame that does things "the right way" and actually cares about its student athletes being "STUDENTS" FIRST and earning meaningful college degrees -- unlike 99.9999999% of the football programs at other schools. And another dose of reality for Rich ought to be an HONEST explanation to his viewers exactly WHY (other than religious bigotry) Michigan hated and hates ND so much. Michigan taught ND the game of football in the late 1880s -- and as soon as ND caught on well enough to beat them, the unsportsmanlike Wolverines promptly cancelled playing Notre Dame (over the decades that happened on at least two separate occasions). And it was Michigan that blackballed Notre Dame's joining the Western Conference (the forerunner of the Big 10) on SEVERAL different occasions. Finally, Envious, bigoted Michigan's hatred of ND backfired on them: in a deliberate attempt to "kill" ND football, Michigan coerced other schools in the conference to refuse to schedule games with ND ... which forced ND to barnstorm all over the Nation (north, south, east, and west) via train just to put together a complete season schedule ... thereby, in the process, that transformed the Fighting Irish into "the Nation's College football team" (the exact opposite result of what black-hearted Michigan sought via their evil design) !!!!!! FACTS !!!!!!!
Pretty sure Michigan also awards “meaningful college degrees” and the ND is the one that chickened out and took an opt out on the last series. No warning, they just gave papers to Michigan at a game saying they wanted to cancel. Also Michigan is a higher rated university and has more wins than ND. Congrats on having the second best fight song and we all know who has the best one. Hail to the Victors and Go Blue!
